Obituary
 Virginia Ruth Thompson, 74, passed away, Sunday, January 20, 2002 at Ray County Memorial Hospital, Richmond, Missouri
 She was born May 12, 1927 in Dallas County, Missouri, the daughter of Charley Everett and Flora Alice Williams Smith.  She attended Dallas County, Missouri schools.  Virginia Was employed with Banquet Foods in Marshall, Missouri.  She retired in 1992 from the Marshall Rehabilitation Center, Marshall, Missouri after fifteen years of service as a Developmental Assistant II.  She was a member of the Assembly of God, Dallas County, Missouri.
 Virginia was married to Bill Smith of Dallas County, Missouri.  There were five children born to this union.  On July 10, 1955 she was married to Hebert Eugene (Gene) Thompson in Buffalo, Missouri.  Two children were born to this union.  He preceded her in death on June 5, 1996.
 Survivors include five sons, Jackie Ervin Smith, Branch, Missouri, Charles Harlan (Toddy) Smith, Waubleau, Missouri, William Everett Smith, Kirbyville, Missouri, Melvin Eugene Thompson, Norborne, Missouri, Roy Leslie Thompson, of the home; one daughter, Carolyn Sue Smith Webster, Warsaw, Missouri; one brother Bobby Smith, Buffalo, Missouri; two sisters, Doris Dampier, Cross Timbers, Missouri, and Bonnie Faye Smith, Buffalo, Missouri; twleve granchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
 She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Billy Smith, one infant son, Jerry Wayne Smith and one granddaughter, Amanda Sue Castle.
