Livona (Hill) Slack was born Apirl 9, 1856 and departed this life August
17, 1924, age 68 years, 4 months, and 8 days.  She was married to J. D.
Slack, June 19, 1872 and to this union were born twelve children, eight
boys and four girls, two boys and one girl having proceeded her in
death.  The children surviving are: Elic Slack of Emporia, Kansas, Minda
Williams and Asberry Slack of Long Lane, Mo., Roy Slack of Wilsey,
Kansas, John of Emporia, Kansas, Louis of Long Lane, Mo., Myrtle Flinn of
Chase, Kansas, Bell Shattack of Pittsburg, Kansas., and Everett of Kansas
City, MO.  All were present at the funeral except Everett, the youngest
son, 52 grandchildren, 44 living, four great-grandchildren with a host of
other relatives and friends survive.  She professed a hope in Christ soon
after she was married and lived a faithful Christian until death.  The
body was laid to rest in the Hill Cemetery Monday afternoon and Elder T.
House conducted the services.
