Mrs. Eliza Slack

Mrs. Eliza Slack, born August 18, 1883 and departed this life December 2, 1905 aged 22 years, 3 months and 14 days, a victim of that dreaded disease - consumption.  She was married to her now betreaned husband, Asbury Slack in the year 1900.  She was the mother of two sweet little boys, Lester and Paul, who are now depruied of her loving care.  All during her sickness she had the constant care of her loving sister who watched over her only to see the delicate flower slowly wither and fade away.  Her funeral was preached by the writer at Pisagh Church, Monday the 4th last after which the remains were laid to rest in the church yard.  Her funeral was largely attended there, being about 300 persons present, which told how much she was loved and respected by her neighbors.  She leaves a host of relatives and friends to mourn, but the grief of parting is softened by the sweet assurance of heaven, blooming in eternal youth, free from all pals.
Rev. R.W. Waterman
