 Funeral services for Mrs. Lester Slack were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 18, in the Montgomery-Viets Chapel with the Rev. Lawrence Graves Officiating.  Music was by Wayne Lemons who sang "One Day At A Time, " and "I'll Not Be A Stanger," accompanied by the organist, Mrs. Vivian Lemons.  Casketbearers were Bert Burtin, Cris Lilley, Deryl Lilley, Jeff Lilley, Leroy Lilley and Owen Smith.  Inerment was in Reynolds Cemetery under direction of Montgomery-Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo.
 Dora Jane Slack was born March 3, 1899 at Bois d "Arc, the daughter of William and Elzina (McGinnis) Grimmett.  She died October 15, 1966 at the Bolivar Nursing Home at the age of 87 years, seven months and 12 days.
 On September 27, 1922, she was united in marrige to Lester Slack and this union was blessed with two children.  A son, Homer, died in 1948.
 She is survived by her husband, Lester of the home in Buffalo; one daughter, Lucille Lilley of Buffalo; one brother, Homer Grimett of Republic; four sisters: Alice Cotter of Ash Grove; Lisa Miler and Minnie Miller, both of Salem, Oregon; and Stella McClary of Wentzville; three grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
 She was a member of the Lynn Street Baptist Church in Springfield.
