Enola Slack
 
 Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. January 17 for Mary Ellen Enola Slack in the Montgomery-Viets Chapel with the Rev. Robert Long officiating.  Music was by Vernon and Jo Ann Viets, who sayng "Peace in the Valley" and "Where We'll Never Grow Old."  Casketbearers were: Bob Franklin, Richard Hill, Russell Hill, Kenny Ray McDaniel, Darrell Skinner and James Weeks.  Inerment was in the Hill Cemetery under direction of the Montgomery-Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo.
 Mary Ellen Enola Slack was born November 29, 1909 in Dallas County, the daughter of Ira Anna (Smith) Shembarger.  She died on January 14, 1994 at Doctor's o 84 years, one month and 16 days.
 Early in life she was baptised and joined the South Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, where she kept her membership until her death.
 On April 4, 1929, she was united in marriage with Paul F. Slack and three children were born of this union.
 Enola enjoyed cooking and cooked for several restaurants in Buffalo and for several years for the sale barn.  At various times, she also had been involved with extension clubs.
 Mrs. Slack is survived by her daughter-in-law, Alice Slack of Buffalo; six grandchildren: Gary Slack, Larry Slack, Paula Killion, Jerry Slack, Terry Slack, and Barry Slack, all of Buffalo; five great-grandchildren: Heather Hill, Regina Slack, Jeanette Slack, Bryon Slack, and Justin Slack; one brother, Vermal (Fat) Shembarger of Buffalo; and two sisters: Ruth McDaniel of Buffalo and Mildred Ramsey of Kansas City.
 She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul, in 1983; three children: Paul Ray in 1989; Carol Lee in 1931, and Hazel May in 1932; six brothers: Hoses, Smokey, Charlie, Clint, Jess and Ray Clifton; and four sisters: Effie Samuelson, Peggy Vierra, Nellie Skinner and Eunice Florence Shembarger.
