Mr. Lewis Allen Slack
 
Mr. Lewis Allen Slack, son of the late J.B. adn laVonna (Hill) Slack, was born on November 4, 1887 in Dallas County, Missouri and departed this life on Monday, March 4, 1968 at 7:15 p.m. at the Burge Protestant Hospital, Springfield, Missouri.  He was at the time of his passing, 80 years and 4 months of age.
 He was united in marriage to Miss Lu Ellen Bradley on December 17, 1995 and to this union were born 9 children, all of whom survive him.
 Mr. and Mrs. Slack have lived their entire lives in Dallas County, Missouri residing on a farm near Long Lane, Missouri for many years, until his retirement.  They then moved to Buffalo to make their home.
 Mr. Slack professed his faith in Christ as his Savior at the age of 14 and united with the Mt. Zion Freewill Baptist Church.  He later transferred his membership to the First Christian Church of Buffalo, Missouri, remaining an active member so long as his breath would permit.
 He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters: Mrs. Ada Bradley and Mrs. Mendy William; 5 brothers, Lesley Slack, Leroy Slack, Aleck, Slack, Asbury Slack, and Floyd Slack; 2 grandchildren.
 He leaves in his passing his life's companion: Lu Ellen of the home: 9 children: Claude C. and Herbert of Buffalo, Mo., Glendon M. of Visalia, Calif., Lendol M. and Almon, both of Marshall Mo., Mrs. Majorie Spence of Buffalo, Mo., Mrs. Anna Dean of Santa Paula, Calif., Mrs. Norma Shipp of Mojave, Calif., and Dale Slack of the home: 2 sisters: Mrs. Bell Shattuck, of Pittsburg, Kansas, Prinesville, Oregon: two brothers: John Slack of Emporia, Kansas, and Everett Slack of Wichita, Kansas; 31 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
 "Lewis", as he was so affectionately known was a wonderful husband and loving father.  His heart and hands were always open to his many friends and loved ones.  His very presence will be sadly missed.
 Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, Mrch 7, 1968 in the Buffalo Christian Church wiith the Rev. Haroid T. Mayers officiating.  Mr. Wayne Lemons sang, "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow" adn "Beyond the Sunest, " accompanied to Mrs. Bea Knapp, organist.  Active Pallbearers were Walter Bradley, Mack Bradley, Paul Slack, Clyde Williams, Bill Bradley adn Levin Bradley.  Honorary Pallbearers were Lester Slack, Theodore Slack, Frank Williams, Avery Bradley, Elbert Bradley and Travis Bradley.  Interment was in the Oak Lawn Cemetery under direction of the Jones Cantlon Funeral Home.
