I posted a request on other site, but no response...I am desperately looking for information on the Evans Family. My great great Grandmother was Miriam/Marion Evans - she married George Marion Phllips...She was born in about 1841. Her daughter, Elvira Nancy Phillips is my great grandmother. My sister and I took a trip to Dallas County a few years ago and ran into some relatives on the old "home place"...we chatted with them for a little while but they did not want to talk much...(suspicious of our motives perhaps)....I have recently started digging into this side of my family and am having a real hard time getting info. It seems the Evans and Phillips Families named all of their kids the same thing! Can anyone at least point me in the right direction on finding parents of Miriam/Marion Phillips? I know she had a sister named Amanda that my uncle said married Harvey Laudermilk? He called her aunt Mandy...I posted some photos to the site...Can anyone poke a hole in my wall? Thanks. I belive John W. or John A and Levi were Elvira Nancy Phillips brothers..at least 2 of them....and one of her cousins or nephew's name was Ivory Phillips (it was his adult children we visited with).....Any assistance will be most appreciated...

Hi, Joanna.

This is Lois Nichols, and I posted some info for you today on the MSN Dallas Gen site.  I did forget to tell you that Nancy Elvira's brother, John W. Phillips and his wife Margaret Bennett, are buried at Lone Rock Cemetery beside their daughter, Gladys Ovie Phillips Chastain.  The Ivory Phillips you are speaking of is Gladys Ovie's brother.

Lois,

Thank you very much.....I was definitely following the wrong line...I was leaning toward John Evans and Miriam Stark as Christina Marian Evans Phillips parents....But I was not yet convinced because I knew she had a sister named Amanda/Mandi who married H. Laudermilk . In one of the photos I posted - the one with Marian and Mandi (Mandi was the larger sister) I believe the 2nd sister in the photo is Lavina..

I do appreciate your informatinon and look forward to hearing from you with additional information....

Thanks again...

Joanna
