Six Steps To Reentering Dreams
If we tap into our dreams, we find ways to bring their guidance and magic into the waking world. The best way to harvest the insight and energy of a dream that you find yourself wanting more information about, is to go back inside the dream through the technique of Dream Reentry. Going back into a dream is like going back to a place you have visited.
You may want to get back inside a dream for any or all of the following reasons:
* to explore the dreamscape and gather helpful information
* to talk to dream characters, who may also be spiritual guides or visitors
* to go beyond nightmare terrors to healing and resolution
* to travel through personal doorways to other worlds
* to have fun and adventure in a deeper reality.
Here is a six-step technique to help you to re-enter a dream:
1. Pick a dream that has some real energy for you. As long as it has juice, it doesn’t matter whether it is a dream from last night or from twenty years ago. It can be a tiny fragment or a complex narrative. You can choose to work with a night dream, a vision, or a waking image. What’s important is that the dream you choose to revisit has some charge-whether it is exciting, seductive, or challenging.
2. Begin to relax. Follow the flow of your breathing. If you are holding tension in any part of your body, tense and relax those muscle groups until you feel yourself becoming loose and comfy.
3. Focus on a specific scene from your dream. Let it become vivid on your mental screen. See if you can let all your senses become engaged, so you can touch it, smell it, hear it, taste it.
4. Clarify your intention. Come up with clear and simple answers to these two questions: (a) What do you want to know? (b) What do you intend do do, once you are back inside the dream?
5. Call in guidance and protection. If you have a connection with the animal spirits, you may wish to call for the help of your power animals. You may choose to invoke a sacred guardian by a familiar name, or you can simply ask for help in the name of Love and Light.
6. Give yourself fuel for the journey. Heartbeat shamanic drumming works for many.
