About Al-Lat: A Persian and Arabian Moon Goddess, AL-Lat is a feminine form of
Allah. Post Islamic writings banished
her name from holy books, but her presence remained behind as a domestic
Goddess, the giver of children and protectress
of all good and just deeds.
To Do Today: Around this time of year, Muslims begin a time of abstinence to
purify themselves and honor their sacred
book, the Qu'ran. During this fast, people are instructed to look within and
rededicate their hearts to the tenets of their
faith. To do this and also honor Al-Lat, fast for this day if physically
feasible. Or, just abstain from one well loved food
or beverage for the day, and study your own sacred text(s). Pray to Al-Lat for
insight into a deeper meaning of the words.
Write down any observances in a journal, so Al-Lat's presence will inspire good
deeds and positive action for many years
to come.
To attract Al-Lat's positive energies into your home, grasp four white item
items (white coral and moonstone are excellent
choices), saying,

been telling me just this very thing. They've asked me what I think

like moving, new businesses, new partners, life changes and more and
this is the big answers I've had all week... to trust your intuition
and listen to and follow your heart!! Thank you dear fairies for this
confirmation of the energy and advice I've been sharing with others!! The

A Spell to Enhance Your Spells
Incense of the day: Sage
The dog days of summer often leave us feeling sapped of energy. Spellworking
takes much energy, so a good Witch knows that some "tools" can help increase the
flow. To enhance our spellworking, use the properties of calcite. Write your
spell on a piece of paper. Fold it, and place it on a mirror. Then place a piece
of calcite on top of the paper. Enchant the mirror and the calcite by saying:
"Mirror reflect, calcite enlarge-with your help, this spell I charge." Leave the
stone in place for three days. Burn the paper, and clean the mirror with a soft
cloth. Leave the calcite on a windowsill to recharge by sunlight for a few days.
When the Sun goes down on the last day, it will be ready to use again.

The broad sweep of the earth, full with grain, is a beautiful sight. The grand
vista of mountains, protecting the fruited
plains, is a beautiful sight. Yet a large woman is, today, considered unsightly
rather than beautiful.
In ages past, however, the Goddess was depicted in tremendously various ways.
Sometimes she was a slight girl,
sometimes a wrinkles matron; sometimes she was slender, sometimes robust.
Women's bodies, in their endless
variation, deserve to be accepted and revered for their unique sand individual
beauty. Such an acceptance is
extraordinarily hard to maintain in our culture, but until we can accept our
bodies, we can not accept ourselves.
We are marvelous, we are astonishing, we are beautiful, just as we are.
