Celtic: Horned Dance at Abbotts Bromley, which honors the Horned God,
Cernunnos. "The Horned One" is a god of fertility,
life, animals, wealth, and the underworld. He was worshipped all over Gaul, and
his cult spread into Britain as well. Cernunnos
is depicted with the antlers of a stag, sometimes carries a purse filled with
coin. The Horned God is born at the winter
solstice, marries the goddess at Beltane, and dies at the summer solstice. He
alternates with the goddess of the moon in ruling
over life and death, continuing the cycle of death, rebirth and reincarnation.

THE BEAUTIFUL DJINN
I once was the most beautiful Djinn in all worlds.
Those that are not politically correct, call us Genies,
But we prefer Djinn, and we are ancient and wise.
But I digress...(did I mention that I was beautiful)?
Most of the time I was able to stay out of the bottle,
Since I was such a wonderful magician and sorceress.
Besides, I was so good at seduction that no one
Wanted me anywhere but in their bedroom.
I did have other talents though, my spells were fabulous.
No one ever threatened my Masters and lived,
And they were blessed with fabulous riches.
I would not have been in a bottle ever, but....
I pissed off (oops, I mean annoyed) a black magician
During a game of Human Chess (live chess pieces);
He was a very sore loser, and sealed me into a bottle.
The bottle wasn't so bad though, as I said, I was wanted...
I had all the sex I could handle, and if my master was homely,
Well, I could always change his looks, which helped.
I finally found a mortal master who freed me.
I was so very grateful at first. It didn't last, though.
Things are fine now, I have my freedom, my looks,
And anything I want, I can conjure up at will.
But I long for the old adventures and mortal company;
If I could just save time in a bottle...

Christianized revamping of an earlier mother Goddess, as implied by her sacred
beverage, milk. Nossa Senhora dos Milagres grants the heartfelt wishes of those
who give her small offerings (often coins). This particular Goddess also
mediates on our behalf with the Gods.
To Do Today: Today the catch phrase "got milk?" takes on whole new meaning. It
is customary to enjoy a banquet of milk and milk-based foods today to honor the
goddess and accept her miracles into our lives. Get as creative as you want
with this idea. Fore example, people having trouble with conception might
request the miracle of fertility through an early morning eggnog. Those wishing
love can eat cheese. Those needing to get the budget under control might make
rice pudding! Someone suffering from illness can eat ice cream with a
blackberry garnish. All of these foods combine milk into a symbolic substance
that releases the goddess into the area of your life where she's most needed.
To present a wish to this Goddess, just put a coin under your milk container in
the refrigerator today and recite your desire. At the end of the day, give the
coin to a young child or person in need so that the magic of happiness and
kindness energizes your wish and the Goddess's answer.

Sit still in a comfortable position today. You can raise energy by using only

Imagine you can see all the way to the core, feel the heat there, and pull it
toward you. Visualize yourself in an energetic situation. See and feel yourself
doing something exciting such as riding a roller coaster, dancing, or running.

Crone's Corner - Getting a New Car Spell
.
Go to a toy store, and buy a toy version of the vehicle you are interested in
obtaining. Focus your intention by standing before your altar and breathing
deeply and slowly. Place the toy on your altar along with a dollar bill, any
literature you have on the car, and something that represents "you" (such as an
earring you wear often, or your favorite old ski hat). Have these items touching
each other if possible. Stand before your altar for about five minutes every day
for a week. See yourself in the vehicle of your choice. Take note of your
sensations. How does it smell? What does it sound like? Do you feel excited?
Liberated? After five minutes, say: "This or something better."

The Wheel Turns
Summer is fading as we move into autumn and the Fall Equinox celebrated as Mabon
by the Celts, Alban Elfed by the Druids and the Winter Finding by the Norse.
This marks the second harvest festival as the last of the crops are brought in.
Traditionally, this time is also known as the Witch's Thanksgiving. We thank the
Goddess for providing us the warmth of the summer and all of her bounty. We
rejoice at all the land has provided us, and as part of our spiritual path, we
recognize the polarity of life as we mourn the gradual disappearance of the
light that is before us.
The earth provides us with a beautiful example of how the elements here on earth
transform, and with that example we discover that this is a time of transition
for us as well. This is the time of year that we see light bring forth shadow,
and so we continue to recognize the balance of life. As we align ourselves with
the time of year, we are mindful that just as we prepare for the challenge of
winter, we also prepare for life's challenges. We decorate our altars in the
rich colors and fruits of the season. Golds, reds and oranges with apples and
grapes. Celebrate all that is rich and wonderful in your life, with the
knowledge that all your challenges can be overcome.

We marvel at the immense variety of snowflakes. Human beings are infinitely more
diverse
and unique, yet we take this beautiful individuality for granted. Without each
individual, the
world is a less complex and fascinating place. From the great playful creativity

We are, each of us, utterly unique in this world. Each of us is a special child
of the earth,
a constellation of talents and beauties and desires that has never been see
before.
Each of us is beautiful and necessary. The world needs us, each of us. If we
treated both
