Moon Moon, Mother Moon - The Current Moon Phase - Waning, Full Moon
Waning Moon Magick
From three-and-a-half to ten-and-a-half days after the full moon. From the
Full Moon to the New is a time for study, meditation, and magic designed to
banish harmful energies and habits, for ridding oneself of addictions,
illness or negativity.
Full Moon
Keywords for the Full phase are: fulfillment, illumination, realization,
experience. It is the time in a cycle that you are given a clear view so
that you can make adjustments to put you back on track to manifesting the
goals you set at the new phase. Go to a public place. Do something with a
friend. LISTEN. Receive awareness. Understand others.

Lunar Lore
The ancients advised felling timber within four days after
the full moon. Pliny said to do it on the shortest day of the
year. Columella said 20th to 28th day; Cato, four days
after the full; Vegetius, 15th to 25th day for ship timber.
But never cut timber during the light of the moon.

GrannyMoon Says Today Is: Tiu's Day
The day of Mars...also Ares, Tiwaz, Tiw (from whom it is named), Tuisco, and
Tyr. Tuesday is ruled by Mars, whose Magickal influences are: Passion,
courage, aggression, and protection. Tuesday comes under the influence of
Mars, the planet associated with vitality, passion, ambition, and raw,
unabashed power. Mars energy makes the mind acute, and the body restless;
therefore, on Tuesday we are likely to exert ourselves physically and take
action to achieve goals. This day is dynamic and high-spirited, and the
prevailing energies may include carelessness and destructiveness as well, so
it is good to be cautious---especially while traveling. Tuesday is the
proper day of the week to perform rituals involving courage, physical
strength, revenge, surgery, and the breaking of negative spells.

Light A Candle Today!
In many different traditions lighting a candle is a sacred action. It
expresses more than words can express.
It has to do with gratefulness. From time immemorial, people have lit
candles in sacred places.
You may want to begin or end your day by the sacred ritual of lighting a
candle on this gratefulness.
One single guideline is all you need: Slow down and do it with full
attention.

Goddess Of The Day: GUNNLOED
Wassail Day (England)
Themes: Creativity; Wisdom; Health; Protection; Fertility
Symbols: Mead; Poetry; Cauldron or Cup; Apples
About Gunnloed: This Teutonic Goddess guards the mead (a honey wine often
made with apples) of sagacity and the muse- a refreshment most welcome at
the outset of a new year. In art, Gunnloed is depicted as a giantess;
according to stories about her, she stood vigilantly by the magic cauldron
of Odherie until Odin wooed her and stole much of the elixir away.
To Do Today: For inspiration and insight, pick out a cup that's special to
you and fill it with apple tea and a teaspoon of honey (a mock mead). Stir
it clockwise, saying,
Gunnloed, come to me, put ingenuity in this tea! Drink the tea to
internalize the magic. If possible, sip it quietly while enjoying a good
book of heartening poetry.
Alternatively, sip some mead, quaff some apple juice, or eat an apple today
for health, and give a little of the leftover liquid to nearby trees. In
Anglo-Saxon tradition, this festival marked a time to enjoy wassail, a
spiced apple cider or mead with herbs. Farmers shared this beverage with the
apple groves to keep them fertile. Wassail literally means "be well" or "be
whole." Drink of the wassail cup to ensure yourself of Gunnloed's gifts of
well-being, creativity, and happiness all year .

PSYCHIC TAROT PREDICTIONS for Tuesday, January 17, 2006
*Mystical Insights to Power Up Your Day* by Zsuzsana
EARTH ELEMENT: Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn
You're likely to be feeling that while everyone else is
using their energies to shirk responsibility, you are left
holding the bag as usual. Do what you feel you should to
help but don't be a welcome mat - you'll only be
disappointed in yourself. Express what is on your mind and
set boundaries where needed.
FIRE ELEMENT: Aries, Leo, Sagittarius
You've built the walls and fortified the fences - now take
some time out to relax. Life can be a struggle sometimes,
but if you never pause to enjoy what you have for fear of
attack or loss, it's not worth much, is it? Look around, and
breathe in some appreciation of your being-ness.
AIR ELEMENT: Aquarius, Gemini, Libra
Although you usually rely heavily on a practical approach to
life, it may be time to listen to your intuition now. If
you've been ignoring those messages whispered in your ear,
or coming to you in your dreams, you may be neglecting some
very important information. If a woman in your life is out
of sorts today, try to put yourself in her shoes - even if
she's looking at the world kind of upside down.
WATER ELEMENT: Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces
Be ready to cope with some minor annoyances and frustrations
today. You may miss some calls, lose some emails, or meet up
with an argumentative person. If you hold onto your temper
you will see that these petty little things are really
nothing more than a couple of pesky flies at a picnic - and
the big picture is just as beautiful as ever.
ANGEL WHISPERS - Gain Guidance From Your Angel!
Angel Message for EARTH ELEMENT people
There is happiness all around you. Your angels are throwing a party.
Angel Message for FIRE ELEMENT people
A long car trip will prove to be successful. The angels are helping you
navigate and see new sights at the same time.
Angel Message for AIR ELEMENT people
You'll get your answers walking in nature. The angels aresending you symbols
- look for them!
Angel Message for WATER ELEMENT people
Someone will be very proud of you or happy for you today. Embrace the
emotional gifts from those who care about you.

Spell-A-Day - Change You Spell
Incense of the day: Poplar
The first thing any spell changes is you. Words have power, and as you weave
a spell, you must be aware of what you are saying. “I will do something?is
a very different statement from “I will try to
do something.?A friend once told me his tribe teaches never to say “try?
instead, always say “I trust I can do this.?This advice is in fact very
invaluable in spellworking. If there is an area in your life you’d like to
improve, try this simple affirmation. First, gaze into your mirror. Light a
pink votive candle, and turn off the lights in the room. Say this
affirmation three times: “I trust that I am an honorable person. I trust my
deities to be with me in all things. I trust I can change those things that
are harmful to me. I trust that I can achieve my goals.?Do this as often as
you like.

Heartwings Love Notes 193: The Importance of Forgiveness
Heartwings says, “Forgiving others makes more room inside ourselves for
happiness.?/DIV>
Sitting quietly, I began to make a list of everyone I could think of, living
or dead, that I needed to forgive. I was aware that they had not acted from
any sense of malice but that what they had done sprang from who they were.
Even so that did not erase my resentment. I also included the names of those
I felt needed to forgive me. I had not deliberately set out to hurt them,
either.
Resentment and guilt take up space that could be better filled with positive
feelings. I had felt them gnawing at me and I wanted them gone. While it may
help to speak with the person I feel resentment toward, yet even then the
feeling may not completely go away. All too often I may not be able to do
this, either. The forgiveness exercise is designed to relieve me of the
burden of these feelings. It has worked for me in the past.
As I wrote down their names I thought about the people. Perhaps they would
continue to do whatever they had done that had bothered me. Yet maybe next
time I would be more tolerant or have lower expectations, thus easing the
impact. Some of them were unreachable—either dead or no longer in my life. I
might even have forgiven them several times over and then uncovered a new
layer of resentment. The act of forgiveness is an ongoing process, not a one
time experience.
At last I was finished. Holding the list over a stainless steel bowl, I set
it on fire, saying, “I freely forgive all those who knowingly or unknowingly
may have injured me, and I request and accept the forgiveness of all those I
may knowingly or unknowingly have injured.?I repeated these words until the
list was ashes. Then I scattered them outside. As I came back in I smiled.
My heart felt so much lighter.
As often as you need to, may you find it in your heart to forgive and to
accept forgiveness.
Blessings and Best Regards, Tasha Halpert

The Herban Corner - Celtic Tree Magic
SAILLE WILLOW
Willows are magical trees with slender pale silver-green leaves. The weeping
willow originated in China, where it graced cemeteries as a symbol of
immortality, and the tree had spread to the Near East by Biblical times. As
Old Testament reference to the exiled Jews hanging their harps upon the
willows as they wept beside the rivers of Babylon led to the weeping
willow’s classification by Linnaeus as Silax babylonica. In ancient Greece,
the goddess Hera was born under a willow on the island of Samos, where a
magnificent temple was built to honor her. In the underworld kingdom of
Pluto and Persephone, Orpheus touched a willow branch and received the gift
of supernatural eloquence. Willow groves are sacred to Hecate, dark goddess
of witchcraft.
During the Middle Ages, the willow became a traditional motif adorning
tombs. Early 19th-century gravestones throughout New England were decorated
with the willow emblem. An old spell uses willow to dismiss love and
transform passion into friendship.
At Full Moon snip a foot-long tendril from a weeping willow tree and braid
it with equal lengths of bright red and cool green yarn. Tie three knots in
the braid and hang the charm in an airy room until the Moon is in its last
quarter. On three successive nights untie the knots one by one in privacy
and silence while concentrating on your desire. Before the New Moon rises,
burn the red strand to ashes and throw to the winds. Coil the willow and
green wool together and place in an envelope for safekeeping.
The willow of the Druids was not the weeping willow, but the tree or shrub
we know as the pussy willow. The Irish called the pussy willow one of the
"seven noble trees of the land."
Crone's Corner - New Ventures Spell
If you need support for a new venture, fill a small jar or tin with popcorn,
and carry it with you for at least twenty-four hours. First thing in the
morning and last thing at night, or whenever you think of it, shake the tin
and say:
Corn of Kore, oh Goddess grand!
Let my business grow and expand.
I will till and plant the seed.
Goddess Kore, let me succeed!
After one day, pop the corn and visualize your fortunes expanding.
Internalize the power of this spell by eating the popcorn. In the spring,
plant a small patch of corn in honor of Kore..

I am whatever is invisible, Whatever is invisible, I am.
I am whatever is alive, Whatever is alive, I am.
I am whatever moves and breathes. Whatever moves and brethes, I am.
I am the very spirit of life. The very spirit of life, I am.
Everything that exists in time is part of me. I am everything that exists.
When time ends, I will end. I will vanish, disappear, dissolve.
And with me, everything else will vanish, disappear, dissolve.
I alone can create, and I alone destroy, this universe.
Everything that exists is mine. Everything that exists is me.
~Invocation to Lakshmi, India
There is nothing in the U niverse that does not partake in the essence of
the Goddess. In Hindu religion, the Goddess creates everything we see,
hear, feel, smell, taste. She is the energy from which all the matter in the
universe is made.
The vision of the Goddess is echoed by contemporary science, which has
rediscovered what some philosophies have long known: that matter and energy
are intimately connected. The dance of subatomic particles, flashing in and
out of existence as they swim in their quantum soup, is not far distant from
the dancing Goddess who creates all the visible and invisible world through
her movement. Whether we call her Lakshmi or the implicate order, there is
an ultimate reality to this universe. Whatever we call it, we must marvel at
its greatness and its mystery.
