" Hairline cracks in crystals  and natural stones -  first they could be there in the first place but you did not notice it.  Cracks were naturally formed when the stones were subject to physical movements and stress while they were in the ground.  The cracks in quartz sometime reflect rainbow.   Cracks also tell us that we must accept imperfection in llife.

Secondly,  the cracks  could be there when someone accidentally drops the stones.  Myi family members sometime dropped my stones but dared not own up to me because I would scold them.

Thirdly,  cracks could appear when the stones are under srtress from negative vibrations in its surrounding.  If you place a piece of  quartz near to a source of radiation - say a TV or Monitor -  after sometimes the hairline cracks would appear and the stones would at the same time lost their natural shine or lustre.   Now,  have you heard of the stories about how jade cracked and broken into pieces when its owner met with a life threatening situation and survived?   Whatever it is,  your friend's crystal could have taken up ther brunt of  an onslaught of  negative energy - it could be one time attack or it could be prolonged exposure.   The latter could be bad Fengshuii influence.   It  pays to inspect the surrounding near the cracked crystral to find out the source of the negative  energy. "

(Above my email response to a member in my room asking about cracks in stones)
