Malachite Gemstone meaning Malachite is believed to be a strong protector of children. It is said to protect the wearer from accidents and protects travelers. Malachite has been used to aid success in business and protect against undesirable business associations. It is a stone of balance in relationships. Malachite is always green, usually in banded tones varying from very dark green to a mellow green. Most malachite comes from Zaire, Chile and Australia. Ancient Egyptians, Greeks and Romans used malachite for jewelry and ground it to use as eye shadow. It is used in amulets to protect against the evil eye. In the Middle Ages it was used to protect children from witches and other dangers. Healing properties of Malachite Malachite is a stone that should not be used for physical healing. Malachite has been called the "mirror of the soul". It is variable in its condition. It reaches the inner feelings of the person and reflects what is there, negative or positive. It is so beautiful that one would like to wear it in jewelry, but caution must be used when wearing Malachite. It will always reflect how you feel, if you feel negative don't wear Malachite. It reminds us that we have a dual nature and it is up to each person to know and rule his own person. To help get rid of nightmares, keep a piece of Malachite in your bedroom. |

Malachite can be used for one form of healing - neutralising pain from the affected area. You place the stone over the region that is painful. After using the stone for this purpose, make sure you cleanse the stone, whioh would be dull in colour and heavier in energy after absorbing the pain vibrations. It is a wealth -generating stone. |

About malachite ( that also includes opal), the stone accentuates the negative aspects of your character. Like if you are easily irritable, wearing the stone would make you feel more edgy and irritable.. I often advice others against wearing malachite; if they do not feel right after a few days of wearing it, they should keep it away. Malachite on the other hand is a good healing stone. When you are suffering from pains, place a piece of malachite on the affected area and it would work by relieving the discomfort. I use to combine moldavite with a specie of unpolished malachite (raw) with pourous appearance in a pouch and leave in the bedroom. It is good in helping those people who are weak and the sick to recover faster. Malachite ranks together with lapis and turquoise as very ancient stones. Understand that in ancient days, noble Eygptian ladies used Malachite as comestics to paint their eye-lids green colour. Blessings Diamond |

Wow! Thanx Diamond! That's really interesting! I'm going to have to tell my sister this~She just purchased a malachite necklace, bracelet, and two rings. She shouldn't wear them all at once! What about Lapis? I have a pair of Lapis earrings that I love but infrequently wear. It seems like they "make" me aware of them;that I'm wearing them(if that makes sense! It causes me to take them out, and they are in sterling silver so I know it's not the silver?) Thanx Diamond! Hugz, Damage |

Hi Damage, Also an ancient stone, Lapis provides mental calming while providing strength of will. Increases psychic ability and allows for spiritual growth. It works well on the Third Eye Chakra, though it also has positive effect on the throw chakra. Assists with the growth of interpersonal relationships. Lapis was used extensively in ancient Egypt. Commonly included with white calcite or golden pyrite, both helping it to integrate the indigo energy into body. The golden pyrite inclusion makes it a wealth generating stone. Placing it on the head might induce Kundalini force to surge from the base for some individuals. Lapis can be worn as ear rings, necklace or pendant. As for myself, I have a lapis bracelet and a lapis ring mounted on white gold. Blessings Diamond |
