Riding the bus can be scary, both for little kids uncertain of what to do and for parents worried about bullies and other safety threats. This beaded charm adds to both safety and security to a child’s daily transit. Your child can even assist in making it. Decide on how it will be carried—as a necklace, bracelet, keychain charm, or maybe just a totem carried in a safe spot in a backpack. Since this is an individualized charm, have the child pick out bead colors. Just make sure they aren’t plastic, as plastic feels inert when it comes to bead magic. Add an animal fetish—that is, a bead shaped like an animal known for strength, such as a tiger, dragon, bear, and so on.
