DEEP, DEEP NEW MOON BLESSINGS TO YOU!
On Monday, November 20, 2006, at 2:19 pm PST, we are moved by the influences of the New Moon in the water sign of Scorpio.
Life sometimes calls us gently, other times urges us, and still other times, pulls and pushes us down deep into the depths to explore, to discover, to witness, to shed light upon, and to experience a symbolic death of that which is no longer in alignment with our Truth, our Self.
Someone recently expressed vehemently to me, "I hate being pushed," while simultaneously sharing that it is often, in fact, exactly what they need in order to make anything at all happen in their life. How do we respond to the call of Life, including Life's call to symbolic death...the shedding, letting go, and death of that which no longer serves our True Self?
It is no easy task to truly 'surrender' our will, our comfort zones, our perspectives to that which is bigger, wiser, greater, and more full of Mystery than what we currently know. I am not speaking here of 'giving up' one's power, wisdom, or freedom of choice, but rather, I am speaking about softening, loosing the grip, going with the flow, listening more deeply, and being willing...willing...to notice what happens when we allow ourselves to go for a dive, a dive into the depths of the unknown within ourselves...with none of the familiar 'equipment,' but rather with eyes that learn to see in the dark, with breath that gets us through the places of no-breath, with the tools of surrender, trust, and faith. Maybe we'll discover a 'pearl' on our adventure; a pearl of wisdom; a pearl of insight; a pearl of authenticity; a pearl of understanding; a pearl of strength; a pearl that helps us remember the value of visiting the depths of the unknown.
FROM THE MOUNTAIN ASTROLOGER MAGAZINE -
This is an extraordinary New Moon. Five planets (Sun, Moon, Jupiter, Mars and Mercury) in Scorpio offer an opportunity for a major life change. And for the next two weeks (and the only two weeks of 2006), every planet is moving direct. All of this indicates that we are at a spiritual crossroads, where we must decide whether to continue on our present course or turn toward a different path. -
Before we bring in the new, we must sacrifice the old. -
The myth of Persephone and Demeter illustrates the spiritual journey of this sign (Scorpio): abduction and descent into the Underworld, confrontation with death, and resurrection into greater consciousness and self-empowerment. -
Whatever trials we've endured, this New Moon shines light on the way out now. -
Scorpio suggests that understanding and forgiveness are the keys to recognizing our next steps. -
Where must we challenge the established order of things? What creations or new beginnings are calling for our protection and nurturance? -
It's time to take a leap of faith. This New Moon reminds us: "The wind of God's Grace is always blowing, but you need to raise your sail." (Vivekananda)
