A bit of Lore and Mythos - Guardian Angels Angels are with each and everyone of us during our waking and sleeping moments but we often forget we have celestial helpers by our sides. They can be silent and unseen yet powerful and strong. I first really 'met' my angel when I was going through a very difficult period in my life. In a short space of time I'd found out my husband was cheating on me and I was left raising 2 toddlers by myself. I decided I'd rather be on my own than have another bad relationship so I wrote my guardian angel a letter asking for help to materialise my soul mate. I was adamant I was not going to settle for anything less!! To cut a long story short, my first venture into angel magick lead me very quickly to Paul and I've been happy ever since. When you open up to the power of the angels you'll find miracles happening and life running a lot smoother. When needed they step in to prevent harm or death. Here's a recent account of how nothing short of divine intervention saved the lives of a man and his baby son. Just last Tuesday Farkas Deak was driving his Toyota Avensis near the IBM plant at Greenock, Scotland. It was an icy morning and the car skidded on a patch of ice and hurtled off toward the woods at the side of the road. As the car travelled out of control a tree trunk smashed through the passenger side of the car. The log was inches away from Farkas when the car abruptly stopped. If the vehicle had continued to move it would have been almost certainly caused Mr. Deak's death. Both he and his 16 month old son escaped from the car with a few scratches and bruises. Normally Mrs. Deak would have been sitting in the passenger seat but she was at home on that day because she didn't feel well. Farkas attributes his survival of the accident to angelic sources. He said "A guardian angel was looking over us. I do not know how we are still alive". DIY Magick - Contacting your Guardian Angel Though every person in the Universe has a Guardian Angel that stays with them from the time of conception until it's their time to walk into the light, relatively few even take notice that they're there.  Fewer still make use of  the blessing of being in constant communication with them.  Why? I've found the leading reason that people don't make use of this blessed communication is simply because they aren't aware of a very important Universal law which states, "No angels shall interfere with a human's life unless asked with the exception being a life-threatening emergency."  Isn't it sad to think of all the excess misery and confusion that's taken on board in so many lives that Guardian Angels would be happy to steer them through? Today for the DIY Magick I want to go over the basics in initialising and remaining in contact with your guardian angel as well as some possible obstacles. Contacting your Guardian Angel  Pick a regular time each day for communicating with your angel.  I find that right upon waking is the best time because you have the whole day ahead of you to experience your Guardian Angel's love. Tell your angel that you want their help in all things and that you'd be really grateful if they'll give you signs as they work with you . Remain open to the messages that your angel sends.  Remember that the message could be direct (such as a voice) or indirect (such as a prickly feeling of danger when you are about to do something). Don't risk your personal safety voluntarily.  Your Guardian Angel will not override your free will. Take responsibility for your own actions.  Things that can make you feel unconnected: Diet- (red meat, caffeine, junk food, pre-packaged foods that contain chemical additives and preservatives, and chocolate are known to create lower vibrations). Though it's not necessary to eliminate these foods completely in your life, I'd highly recommend greatly limiting them. Drugs and alcohol- both illegal and over the counter products cause lack of clarity. Allowing your emotions to run too high. Disorganisation (internal or external) Constantly hanging around negative people Unrealistic expectations Impatience-  It can take days, weeks even months to receive an answer you fully understand. Recipe for the Week - Angel Cookies When you do allow yourself a treat, here's the perfect cookie to have.  Make it a special sharing with your Guardian Angel by considering all the messages you've received from them and the positive things they have added to your life. What you need: 1 cup margarine, softened 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1 egg 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 teaspoon cream of tartar 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 cups flour 1/2 cup chopped walnuts 2 cookie sheets (there is no need to grease these for this recipe) What to do: Cream margarine and sugars until light and fluffy. Stir in egg and vanilla. Beat well. Stir in cream of tartar, salt and baking soda. Stir in flour and nuts. Drop by teaspoon onto cookie sheets. Bake at 350 for 9-10 minutes or until light brown.
