A Goddess for today - Hestia
Hestia is the Greek Goddess of hearth and home. She is one of the first Olympian Deities, born of Cronos and Rhea, and She is sister to the other Olympian Gods (Zeus, Demeter, Hades, etc.) but she did not live on Mount Olympus.
She is a very domestic Goddess who never married, and She is best known for Her hospitality to anyone who comes to Her. She was typically honoured in the home at the hearth or fireplace, as well as at local town centers. The hearth-fire is sacred to her, as are the meals cooked upon it.
