It is very late in the game, but with enough people making enough noise it is not to late. People need to start addressing the government aggressively with words. A place to start is Nancy Pelosi, although she may not be an individuals district congress person, she is leader of the house and therefore should be hearing from and responsive to every American. The first thing to push for is a repeal of Presidential Directive 51 that gives George Bush the power of a dictator. Then the call for Impeachment, Investigation, Indictment, and Incarceration for every member of the Bush Administration. Letters to this effect should be sent, to Ms. Pelosi and your own Representatives and Senators, by every citizen concerned with the well-being of this nation and the principles it was founded on.
The letter below can be used by anyone, it does not need to carry my name, but it can. It can be personalized to each member of congress and signed individually or by groups. If this letter or others like it is sent to every member of congress over and over and over again by as many people in every district of both parties as possible it will get attention. The idea being that by concentrating on one message, delivered in no more than three different formats i.e. the same three letters, sent by many different people repeatedly shows solidarity. Calling for the same
actions and expressing the same concerns by everyone that can be reached in such a united fashion will be noticed, and that is a beginning. Again I will state that I don't look for, need, or expect personal recognition. My name does not need to be on the letter, but if it helps those of you who are willing to use the letter to keep my name on it that is fine by me. I only care that we be unified and that the message is heard.
Solidarity,
Fredrick
Dear elected official,
It is respectfully requested that you stop the partisan bickering that wastes so much of your time and our money. Put aside the deal making and pork and begin to do the job that you were elected to do. Protect and represent the people of this nation, not the corporations that now seem to own what is supposed to be government of the people, by the people, for the people. Return integrity to the workings of our government and restore the faith of the people for that government.
It is understood that you face many issues and there is disagreement as to how to deal with them all. Listen to the will of the people of this nation, avail yourselves to their concerns. Be courageous, stand above partisan politics, and address the issues that confront every American every day.
George Bush and his entire administration has failed this country as a leader. He has acted unilaterally and with hubris in every instance. The clandestine manner in which his administration has operated has demoralized the nation and dishonored the office he holds.
It is respectfully requested that congress do all it can to repeal NSPD-51, put impeachment, not only on the table, but at the forefront of business. Both George Bush and Dick Cheney have acted in a manner that has disenfranchised the citizens of this nation and need to be impeached, and removed from the honorable positions they hold. Not only should they be impeached, but the entire administration needs to be investigated, indicted, and charged with crimes against humanity. They have taken personal and partisan advantage of the peoples office, and you, congress, have allowed them to do so every step of the way.
It is obvious that the needs of the people of this nation now take a backseat to corporate interests, including but not limited to, big oil companies, arms manufacturers, the insurance industry, banking interests, and privatized prisons. This has to change for the good of the people of this nation and it’s future. It is understood that America’s tax dollars only pay the interest on the money loaned to our government by the Federal Reserve. This system is bankrupting the nation and has built an ever growing debt that can never be paid. Again it is respectfully requested that you put aside your bickering and special interests and deal courageously with these issues.
Upon full review the Patriot Act is a law that infringes on the rights of all Americans in a broad spectrum of ways. As such it offers more harm to the American way of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, than protection from anything. It needs to be repealed immediately, and replaced with something much better thought out and not motivated by fear.
There is no good reason why every man woman and child in this country doesn’t have healthcare at least as good as our elected officials. It is time to dispense with the profiteering of the health insurance industry and take care of your constituency.
The American Military has been used to further corporate interests and now finds itself mired in a civil war with no exit strategy. The honor and bravery of the young men and women that have fought and died for this nation in this conflict and those of the past is great and not in question. The honor and integrity of those that have sent them into this conflict is. It is time to bring home our troops and honor their efforts as they have been mislead by the leadership of this administration.
Sincerely,
The People
