Here is my favorite pasta sauce recipe.
It is quick and easy.
And has the best taste of all!
*** Sauté a handful of chopped onions in olive oil until nearly brown. A handful of chopped mild or hot green chili can also be added as an option, sauté at same time as onions.
*** Add Salt, Pepper, chopped or pressed Garlic and a couple of Tablespoons Crushed Oregano Leaf. Put the leaf in your palm and roll it hard with fingers to crush it finer.
*** Add Sliced Mushrooms sauté for 1 or 2 minutes (can be omitted, but it adds protein)
*** Add 4-5 chopped tomatoes or one 14.5 oz can petite cut tomatoes and juice. Sauté for 3 or 4 minutes.
*** Put over freshly cooked pasta of choice, or use as the sauce on a fresh pizza.
Use enough salt to take away the tart tang of the tomatoes. These days the canned tomatoes are often tastier than the fresh ones, so if your fresh ones aren’t sweet and juicy, use the canned ones! Use enough oil so that the sauce looks oily.
Olive oil is healthy, exercise to work off the extra fat…that is healthy too!
(I haven't yet tried this recipe out, but I saw it and am sooo hungry rite now - it appealed, so I am gonna give it a try!) Hugs... ~eerie |
