Insomnia for several months, I have much trouble getting to sleep.  Once I'm under, I sleep well all night.
Get up same time every morn: 7:15am
 
When I first moved here a year ago, I was like clock work sleeping 9-5.  In bed at 8, read a little and it was  heavenly.
 
EXCITED ABOUT TOMORROW!
---MY FIRST TIME TO ATTEND A DIABETEIC  SUPPORT GROUP IN ORANGE COUNTY.  I FEEL PSYCHED.  ONLY  HOPE THERE'S A GOOD SIZED GROUP AS EXPECTED.

Drove 60 miles round trip to find a disappointing diabetes support meeting- about 8 people, not well informed.  They needed input which the moderator and a diatician gave but I'm beyond their knowledge.  Not meaning to sound pompous; just telling the truth.  I'm always looking for facts at meetings. 
 
Anxiously awaiting arrival of my Rx from Caremark.  They said they mailed it several days ago but from ILllinois !  My supplies are supposed to come from San Antonio.  I really need the Metformin.
 
Have been walking every morning for 30 minutes.
Will try to walk longer after one week.

Rx arrived yesterday by Airborn American DHL (what's  THAT?) Metformin XR  500 caplets to be taken one a day at supper, then titered up to 4 a day.  Interesting progression:
 
Week of  1 a day after supper
Week of 1 a day after supper, 1 after bkfst
Week of 2 after supper, 1 after bkfst
Week of 2 and 2- after bkfst and supper.
 
This regimen to prevent the GI upset she (endo) says.
Last time I took Glucophage was May 2000 when dx'd.
It caused horrendous gas cramps (took Beano) and constant diarrhea.
 
Better days ahead!

Marion:  I am glad you finally got the Metformin. Hope you have better luck with it this time around. I tried it also but with the gastroparesis I just couldn't do it.
Good to see you are getting out walking every day. Wish I could.
 
Saying a prayer that the Metformin will work for you this time with little or no side effects.

Marion, I to am happy you are on metformin....I do sympathsize with you on the hunderous gas and Constant Diareha..OMG its terrible..I have been on 2000 mg of Metformin for a year and was gonna change to something else because of that problem but....After much reading and what i heard from others I decided that I wouldn't change after all...So i suffer from the gas and Diareha on a daily basis...But it beat the weight gain that came from other Meds....After a year I should be used to this..I just know what and when i can't go out....Hard sometimes...but i am adjusting...And it helps....So I am happy you are on this....it works just some icky side effects that go with it...Good luck though....

I fall asleep early in front of the tv wake up and go to bed.sometimes fall back to sleep reading. often wake at 4am and can't get back to sleep
