Susie, honey, do you mean that you haven't been testing your bs? Is that what you mean?  If so, then this is a kick in the butt for you!! What's going on that you haven't been testing?  Inquiring minds need to know....

Chris

Fresh start for Susie...along with that kick in the butt. Believe me, I've gotten my share of kick's in the butt here...(all wanted and needed)...
You will do better...if remembering is the problem, write yourself a note, post it on the fridge..(we all go there during the day)...
If it's stress or just not caring for a bit in your life (we've all done it)...start caring. Tomorrow is a new day...get a positive attitude...that's what you need to start.
And I agree, we are here for you!!! We want to help you, but without knowing the whole problem, our hands are tied (so to speak)...go ahead...open it up..let it out...
In the meantime, I'm holding you in my prayers...
Hugs, Marcia

I ck only when my bs is either going high or low and thats about it!!!  i did not ck this morning i think cuz it was the last thing on my mind,, im out of the habit and i think this is why too.  I also swear i have the worse case EVER of diabetic memory loss!!!!!  I  cant even remember an ending of a moving the night before that i watched!!!!!  Honestly i cant!!!!  unless i watch it a million times or if Roy refreshes my memory then that wakes up the memory to a point only!!!!  Roy calls me all the time to remind of things i need to do or not forget!!!  The only thing or things i can remember are numbers,, dates,, and dr appts!!!!!!  So thats another reason.

Also,, ive put on about 10-15 extra unwanted pounds!!!!  I have no luck at all of loosing the weight the right way cuz when ive tried all that happens is while or after excersise i have a high bs along with a low one,, either or!!!  And all i end up getting is weight doesnt move and i body swells up!!!!!  Plus make matters worse,, my husband has his 20yr class reunion next month on the 19th and if i at least want to feel good about myself i have to at least loose 10lbs!!!!

Now if my husband new of any of this he would not be a happy camper cuz he has told me often before we got married that he would not stick around if i did not take care of me cuz he doesnt want me ever to never not be here,, like live forever!!!!  Well this is pretty much how it is going.  So now what???  Well i hope this goes threw this time,, take care
Hugs

Morning Susie! Sounds like you're going to have to do what I do..write everything down. You're lucky you remember numbers..I take my bs and have to write it down right away or I have to scroll back on my monitor and refresh my memory. Luckily I'm good at remembering names.
You should see all the little notes I have around my computer. lol
Your hubby sounds like a sweetheart, start taking your BS more often and write it down. He sounds like someone you want to be around for for a long time.
The extra weight thing I don't know about. I'm type 2 and there is quite a difference in eating habits etc between the two types.
I'm like your hubby..just want to see you stay healthy.

Well i think what im going to have to do is leave a bunch of sticky notes around the whole house for now on and start writing down lists for everything and anything.

You know whats really strange,, as i now type this,, the thought of cking my bs just came to mind????  Before hand not at all.  Well it looks like i have alot of work cut out for me.  I really have to change my whole life style to remember things and so that it help me change things along with my routine.  Thanks again Sal
Take care

OK, honey...we both know what you're doing, so CUT IT OUT!!!  Or so help me I'm coming to MN and kicking your butt from there to kingdom come!
Now we both know that I understnd what you're doing, because I've done it myself.  And with that reunion coming up, you are feeling the stress.  Plus, you know that those high bgs are responsible for your temporary memory loss...can't remember things when you are loopy from high sugar.
Every day is a new beginning, and you can change your control if that is what you want.  It takes dedication and willpower.  You CAN do whatever you set your mind to doing!  There are healthier ways to drop a few pounds, too.  I was thinking of just e-mailing this to you, and keeping it off the boards.  But you need this swift kick in the butt!  Remeber, you asked for it!
You know I love you like a sister, and all I want is for you to be happy and healthy.  Please stop doing this to yourself, and take better care of my friend!!!  BIG HUGS!  sheryl

Hi Sheryl and All

You are right on target Sheryl.  My will power is little to non when it comes to this kind of thing.  And I know from right from wrong the only thing that keeps coming up in my mind is when i was dedicated and was joined in a gym and very faithful with that 5 days a wk and 2hrs each flippin day,, in three months i didnt see much of a change EXPECT i did build muscle.  That was a few yrs ago or so and so since i was so fusturated i went back to my own way into how it would work for me,, dangerously of course.
Now for the GOOD NEWS,, yesterday i kept myself very busy for the most part of the day and cleaned my office from top to bottom carring boxes down stairs and just didnt stop till it was done to my perfection way!!!  Then i was watching Oprah and she was talking about her ideas on how she lost weight and so fourth so i went on my tredmill in my office for exactly 30.01 minutes,, i started at a speed of 2.0 and a little after that i climbed up to 2.6 for a little bit and then i went to 3.0 and kept it there till i was done.  I felt proud of myself,, something i havent felt in a long time ya know.  SO today guess what?  I checked my bs this morning and they were 351 and i took 4.6 units and two hrs after i was 88 but i have been really busy again today cleaning my bathroom from top to bottom again and that makes me feel good.

I just cked myself before lunch here and my bs were 143 which doesnt surprise me cuz earlier i felt a little weird and drank a cup of OJ.  Now im eating a sandwhich for lunch.  well ck in two hrs.  but after im done eating i will go on the tredmill,, so yes IM TRYING HERE!!!!!  I am also stressing at home with hubbys work,, bills,, money!!!  But im trying to leave all that stress to Roy as how he wants it to be.  Sorry for the long post!!!  Thanks you all and SHERYL for the big kick in the behind!!! lol  Ok,, with this excersise im trying to learn how that all works in with my insulin pump so im trying.  Take care all
Hugs

Susie, I just want to say that you can set a reminder on your pump.  You can set it up to remind/alarm you 2 hours ~ or however many hours you want ~ after you last bolused.

Go to Main > Bolus > BG Reminder > Select ON and press ACT.  It's now enabled. Exit the menu.

Now, the next time you bolus, you will be prompted for the amount of time you want to be reminded or for the alarm to go off.
And you can set up what type of alarm - vibrate or beeping.

Hope this helps a little bit with the memory issue.

Take care
Chris

Oh Susie I'm so glad for you!!!

Just remember: now that it's turned on, you'll be prompted every time when you bolus for the length of time you want the meter to remind you.  So, it just means you have to enter 'act' a couple of more times than you're used to right now.  That's all.  Good luck with that.

I used to use that feature in the beginning of pumping, but I soon got tired of being reminded so much.

Take care
Chris
