Busywomen1,
Well my fellow diabetic, this is my first time with the diabetes group also. I've had diabetes for 32 years. I was diagnosed when I was 18 and 6 mos. pregnant for my daughter. As you stated, I also have brittle diabetes. Back in the beginning of all of this, my doctor told me that it probably would take a couple of years for my diabetes to level out. Well, I'm still waiting............
I can be cruising right along with good readings and without changing my diet or routine, my sugars just jump. Low bloodsugars generally happen with an increase in activity, for me, which I think is pretty much usual for most diabetics. Although if I experience a situation that pumps adrenalin in me, that can do it also. After years of trying to journal results and putting results into grafts, I haven't been able to come up with any pattern or explanation.
I do know that stress, be it physical or emotional, will knock me off track. I've also found that the female cycle trips me up monthly. It's so weird because even daylight savings time affects my readings!!
I have a question that maybe you can give me some insight on. Sometimes it seems that my bloodsugar readings are time-delayed. What I mean is, if I eat something that I think could significantly affect my bloodsugar level, it'll read good until about two days later. By then, I'm back to my normal diet and expecting normal readings and it's elevated. Do you ever experience that?
Well, just a hello.....I'm looking forward to learning from everyone's posts also. Peace, newby556
