Are you taking Lantus as one of your Insulins,, or in addition to oral medications??

Please Share your experiences with us here.. and remember Each of us are different and you need to consult your OWN Doctor before you make a change in any medications or doses..

Keep smiling, Cuddles

I use Lantus still trying to find the right dose.  I am up to 56 units once a day, I combine it with Glucophage 500 mg X 2 a day.  It is working great for me so far.  I hope it continues.

I have been using Lantus alone for last 3 years. I just found the right formula for me.  I take 20 units in the am and 30 units before bed.  When I took only a pm dose, I had way too many lows (40-60) in the morning and would go too high after meals (even if no carbs consumed).  The split dose seems to take care of the yo-yo effect for me.

Well, endo and myself have decided I am allergic to Lantus. Switched to Levemir, have to use a large dose and divide it in two but seems to be starting to work better.
Lantus caused me to have terrible nasal congestion especially at night after I took it at supper time. I tried taking it in two doses and in mornings only, it still affected my nasal passages.
My endo has marked this so she can report it to the company and the medical society. The first day I was on Levemir, all my nasal congestion went away.
