Hi Everyone my Name is Kerry and I am 32 years old pregnant with my 4th child! I have 2 boys and 1 girl we are not sure what the sex of this one is still to early... so here is my story. I was diagnosed 6 months ago with type one. When I was pregnant with my children besides this one of course I did not even get gestational diabetes so this is very, very new and confusing to me.
I am seeing a Peri and my Endo as well as my regular OBGYN, I have had two ultrasound one at 7 weeks and one yesterday everything look great heart is beating strong and growing the way it should according to the US (ultra sound), but here is my concern. Being that I am a new diabetic my blood sugars at first were not good.. when I found out I was pregnant which was right away my Endo took control as good as she could and refered me to my Peri. My A1C 2 months ago was 8.6 which I know is real bad.. but I have been working real hard on keeping my blood as normal as possible. Latley I have ha alot of lows as low as 32!!!! Is that not good either? It is just so hard. I just want everythign to be perfect like my 3 beautiful children I have. I f anyone could give me some advice or a story that would make me feel better, since the Dr's like to scare me it seems... would be GREAT!!
Oh and by the way I am not currantly on the insulin pump... Insurance won't cover it and I can not afford to pay for it outright!
Thank you for listening!

Hello.  If you've read through some of these posts you'll know I just had my baby in July.  My advice is to just make sure you keep your sugars in real tight control now until the end of your pregnancy.  The first 3-4 months of my pregnancy I had many lows...many in the 30's and 40's.  Then all of a sudden they started going up and they will continue to go up and you'll definitely have to modify your diet.  I had to cut out so many things from my diet or I was only able to eat them at certain times of the day.  It was all really weird.  I remember my doctor told me I would be doing anywhere from 7-10 shots a day so that's why I decided to switch to the pump and I am lucky that my insurance covered it.  Well I wish you the best of luck and keep us posted on your progress.
