First Erinnire I see that your new here and I want to welcome you here. The only thing I can tell you about how to have a healthy pregnancy being a diabetic is to keep your sugars under control. We have a few here that have been thru a pregnancy and had healthy babies hopefully they will see your post and give you some pointers. Hi Erin. Like Mary said you need to have tight control of your sugars prior to trying to conceive, and during your pregnancy. I've posted several times on earlier posts as to what I did so maybe you want to look through those. My first step was seeing and OB specialist for a consultation and she told me everything I needed to do...where my sugars should be, the risks involved, how much insulin I'd probably be taking. I followed all the rules and had a health pregnancy which resulted in a beautiful baby boy this past July. Write back if you want more details. I'd be more than glad to help! Michelle |
