Hello. I realize no one visits here any more but thought I'd post anyways :) I'm 33 weeks pregnant now. My little girl is measuring to be about 4 lbs and 11 oz as of a week ago. I have been doing NST testing twice a week now for a little over a month now. Things seem to be going ok. She is still breach so I'm praying she will turn but I don't know if she will which will mean a C-section. I did have one little incident during NST last week and I thought I was having the baby but after discussing with my doctor she thinks I can hold out until 36 weeks (my son came at 35 weeks). So I really only have 2-3 weeks left until she makes her arrival. She's moving a lot and I've been having a lot of contractions so we'll see.... Hope everyone is doing well! Michelle |

Michelle....I don't think we've formally met, but I'm Cheryl. I knew that there had been some members in this group that have had babies...Teri, for one...but I didn't know anyone was expecting. What is NST? Please forgive my ignorance...it's been many many years since I've been on the baby scene. Maybe if your little girl is still quite active, she will spin herself around and find her way out into the world. So, do you have a name for her yet? I hope all goes well....and I'll pay attention to this board now and watch for news! Take care, Michelle.....Peace,Cheryl |

Thank you ladies for your kind words. An Cheryl, nice to meet you too! NST testing is non-stress testing. Essentially you recline and they strap 2 monitors on to you to listen to the baby's heart rate. It checks the heart rate, to see if there are any accelerations in the heart rate when the baby moves, how often baby moves, if I'm having any contractions and if there are any decelerations in the baby's heart rate. I have to do this twice a week. I truly hope she can flip around. I have a lot of amniotic fluid so I'm praying but she seems quite comfortable where she's at. I have a couple weeks so we'll see! We have not picked out a name yet. We have a few ideas floating around but haven't settled on anything. It's hard to pick one! We have a long last name so I want a short first name and I don't want anything too popular that everyone has and of course it can't remind of us of anyone from high school! ha ha Sometimes we like a name but then one of us will be like "no, that reminds me of so and so" so we can't use it. It's silly but it happens. But we better make up our mind soon! I'll keep you all posted. Not sure how frequently I'll be online right after the baby comes but I'll at least get a quick post on. Michelle, Okay....I do remember those tests...I had some when I was pregnant for my daughter. I remember they put those belts on me and she was so active that they didn't know if I was having a contraction or if she was making it register because of her movement. Please remember...this was back in '74 so I'm sure that they've come a long way since then. What they did was they inserted an electrode into me vaginally and connected it to the uterus to see if the uterus was contracting. Thing was....then I could feel the wire moving from where it was connected to the uterus to where the monitor was attached on my thigh. LOL! It was strange to say the least. But they were able to tell when she was strong enough and she was born without any complications and she was/is alright. Thanks for explaining what the test was. Hope you're feeling okay....Peace,Cheryl |

Baby hasn't moved yet :( I'm still doing my exercises though. Her head doesn't feel as high as it was. I'm thinking maybe she's sideways now. I will find out tomorrow. I see my doctor on Friday and will be getting a birth plan hopefully - if she's not moved they should schedule the C-section and all that good stuff. I guess she's not as anxious to come out as Lance was. Lance wanted out this week in my pregnancy (35 weeks) so we'll see what happens. I know I'm ready to not be pregnant! ha ha I'd love to have my normal clothes again. But at the same time a bit stressed as to how I'm going to handle 2 kids. Oh my. I'm sure I'll get by though and hopefully Lance won't be too jealous. He'll still be my number 1 boy :) and I'll have my number 1 girl too! Michelle |
