I guess I am going to investigate new pumps because my warranty to my first purchased pump is up in July.  I can keep this one, but if it should die I guess I have to pay $500 and they will extend the warranty on it for one year until you make a purchase.
I'm looking into Cozmo and Animas' new pump.  The best deal is going to win, no matter what I want, because my hubby wont let me spend much money on this.

Let us know what you find out!  My warranty has been out for a year now.  I am still waiting on the CGMS I think I want (Navigator) to be approved by FDA before I decide on a new pump.  I have a Minimed 511 and I still like the Minimed 522 the best because it is the quietest.  I hate a noisy pump.  If this pump breaks I will just have Minimed send me the 522.

Julie: I have the 722.  What's the difference between the 522 and the 722?

The 722 holds more insulin than the 522.

I only use about 28 units of insulin a day, so the 522 will suit me fine.  I usually fill my reservoirs with about 180 units of insulin and that lasts me about 6 days.

Animas quoted me around $3000 because of my awful co-pay, but they said they cant get me a firm quote on the negotiated price unless I do the paperwork.
I found out my Endo's office is big on Cozmo--my CDE over there who uses a pump prefers it, which may give me a little more to gain from all this.
So I started filing paperwork with Cozmo.
The warranty being up means if any little thing goes wrong, you pay Animas $495 for six months of a used pump.
Then, you have to either buy one or you are out the $495.  You're also out the money if you use theirs six months and then choose another company.  Might as well go for it now.  We're refinancing the house, and I dont want to shell out money for this but I have to do something.
