I have a Disetronic pump and have always raved about their excellent customer service and how quickly I get my supplies.  Well I ordered them a little more than 3 weeks ago and still have yet to receive my infusion sets.  They have been back ordered.  I called 2 weeks ago and spoke with my rep and they were supposed to come that week.  A week passed and still nothing so I called again last Thursday.  Still back ordered but supposed to come on Friday. Well it's Thursday again and still nothing.  How can a pump company not have any infusion sets????  This is our lifeline to get insulin.  It seems absurd to me that this could be happening.  If I don't have them today when I get home I will be calling again tomorrow and this time not so friendly.

Is this through the new company they formed with Roche?
I wouldnt let it go too much longer, as it is very important you get what you need.
I wonder if things are different because Roche/Disetronic came out with their new Spirit pump?
Have you tried Emailing them and calling them?
Are you still gettting customer service on the old Disetronic pumps?

I got them on Thursday!  They were reading my mind.  Yes this is that company and they do all the Accucheck stuff too I believe.  They still service all Disetronc pumps.  I'd like to get the Spirit but not sure if my insurance covers that. When they had that whole pump issue of not being able to manufacture in the US for a couple years I think my insurance stopped offering their pumps and now do MiniMed and Animas but I hope they will offer the Spirit soon.  But insurance won't cover a new pump unless mine really needs to be replaced so for now I'm stuck with my D-tron Plus which is fine because I really like it.  I've had it for 4 years now and I've been nothing but pleased.  My only gripe so far has been this backorder of infusion sets.  And yes I called about 3 times and they were nice but I guess it was out of the hands of my rep but more of an issue with Roche's supplier not producing enough.

Michelle:  Just make sure you are covered if that warranty goes out and your pump dies.
I had to ask lots of questions but found out when my warranty is up in two weeks, if the least little thing goes wrong on the pump (even a chip or crack or something) I have to pay $500 for a replacement.  That then is applied to a new pump from my present company, or I lost the money.  The 500 only covers six months.
This is why they said I had better have a plan in place, and dont even wait a day past the warranty.
Now I only hope I get it approved.
