This just irks me something awful.
I have a friend who is a new pumper, and she has some anxiety problems etc.
She was also hitting lots of muscle with the infusion set.
That happened to me when I started pumping in 2000, and I had to switch to Silhouette/Comfort sets because I couldnt use the 90 degree sets.  I hit muscle every time.
Anyway, I encouraged her to try the Comforts.
Well, the doctor's nurse told her they cause lots of infections and big holes.
I dont think so.
And it isnt really supposed to be the nurse's call.
If the nurse is a pumper, maybe she is entitled to an opinion, but to come up with these conclusions and force them on a patient, well it just doesnt seem right to me.

Wow - I agree.  I use those sets and always have.  When I strated pumping 5 1/2 years ago, they were the sets everyone recommended - the CDE, the pump rep, and I didn't like the straight-in ones because they fell out too easily.  I agree on the pet peeve of heavy-handed doctors and/or nurses.  I am lucky that mine always give me the final say on things.

My opinion is that anyone in the doctor's office has no place to "put down" any brand or company. They can offer an opinion if they personally have tried it and if it worked for them, but saying something like "That was no good" just doesn't sit well with me.

I had a similar issue with my doctor's assistant when I first got out of the hospital with my diagnosis. She said "How do you know you have diabetes?" I mean.. I just said I was just released from the hospital! Then she bad mouthed the hospital, which I got pretty good care at.
