I had an issue where they had provided information to a friend of mine in whom had answered my phone. I was outside in the bring in some stuff from the store. The person on the phone was inquiring why my bill hadn't gotten to them on time, and that my supplies were being put on hold. In the midst of this, the individual had given out my medical information to my friend, but he had said that this isn't me.
I have my server record all calls incoming and outgoing on my server. So I was able to back track the conversation. I was totally dumbfounded on what was said by the MiniMed Rep.
I had immediantly called back and asked for this person, got them and utterly chewed them a new face. The person had said that she didn't say what she said and I had advised them that all conversations are recorded. I had advsed her that I will turn her into HIPPA and will go forth with a lawsuite to the max amount allowed. She hung up. I had called and talked to another individual and asked to be transferred to the legal department. I had told them what was going on and he said that they will forward it to the right person.
About two hours later, legal from MiniMed called and asked for what was going on and wanted to know what course of action I was going to take. Had told them that my personal info was released to the wrong person, and without my permission. Had advised that I will seek legal course of action and get HIPPA involved. I had told them, I do have the conversation recorded, I had gotten an e-mail and forwarded it to them.
Well, with owing close to $800 on my pump as being my responsibility, they wipped it out as to the issue I had with them. Couple days later, I had gotten a call back and they had told me that they had changed proceedures and looking at having calls monitored. They had said that some of the calls that take place are outsourced with other agencies and aren't directly affiliated with MiniMed, but work outside with a different company. If that makes sense....
