1 small head of cabbage
 1 carrot, quartered and sliced
 1 firm tomato (vine ripe)
 2 handfuls of french cut green beans.
 1 large handful of broccoli.
 (sorry, thats how I measure)
 1/4 cup barley or lentils
 Add or omit veggies of your choice.
 16 ounces low sodium beef or chicken broth (depending on my mood. It's beef this time)
 2 to 3 cups water.
 Pepper and garlic to taste.
 Put everthing in a crock pot. Cook on high 6 to 8 hours, or until carrots are tender.
 Yields about 6 to 7 bowls of soup.
