1 pound uncooked Hot turkey Italian sausage links, sliced
1/2 pound lean ground beef (97%)
1 large onion, chopped
1 medium green pepper, chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 cans (14-1/2 ounces each) beef broth(I use low sodium ones)
2 cups water
2 cups fresh or frozen corn
1 can (14-1/2 ounces)diced tomatoes with green chilies, undrained
1 cup diced carrots
1/3 cup minced fresh cilantro or parsley
2 jalapeno peppers, seeded and chopped
1/2 teaspoon salt (I use 1/4 or less)
1/2 teaspoon cumin

In a large saucepan, cook sausage, beef, onion, green pepper and garlic over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in the remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 30-40 minutes or until heated through. Yield 8 servings.
Nutritional Info. one serving equals 1-1/3 cups
222 calories, 9 g fat(3g saturated), 41 mg cholesterol, 1,153mg sodium, 18g carbohydrate, 2g fiber, 18g protein. My sodium count is lower because I use the lower sodium canned broths, and less of the salt added.
This is one that my hubby really likes,,, one of the first ones I served him when making the switch from regular Italian sausage to Turkey Italian. Really needs the Hot Italian Turkey Sausage. It freezes well!! Keep smiling, and happy cooking! Cuddles
