I must say, WAR and PEACE just scares me! the size of it and war?? think I will pass.   As for GONE WITH THE WIND .....  I saw the movie first then saw the size of the book and yet again baulked!   YET I read all the Harry Potter Series without batting an eye!  GO FIGURE!

Gone With The Wind is probably my absolute favorite book of all time. I never have seen the entire movie but I've read the book too many times to count. I enjoyed the book Scarlett as well but not as much as GWTW....

As for War and Peace, I had to read it for an english class once. And I did. Without the benefit of Cliff Notes...lol... but it's probably not something I would have picked up on my own to read.

Little Women.  I also loved the movie with Winona Ryder.  I started crying as soon as it started and cried through the whole thing.  My son was mortified.  LOL

War and Peace was also made into a good movie with Audrey Hepburn and Mel Ferrar   It is a good book to read in the winter when you have plenty of time    the names can be confusing but just go by 1 name for each character [the name that you can remember][the Russian names are long]and keep going

ahhhhhhhh little women!!!!  Kate Hepburn in the original and June Allison in the remake before Ms Ryder's remake! You guys are going to make me go MOVIES and this is BOOKS ! ! ! LOL!

Once I see a movie I have a hard time reading the book!  and once I read the book I don't want to see what they've done to it on screen!  ONLY except is Harry Potter (but I still am not happy going to see the movies cause I sit there and catch everything they have cut OUT)
