Hi Everybody :
Does anybody here take Alpha Lipoic Acid ?  If so, what is your experience with it ?
Ive been taking it for several years.  I truly believe that it has helped my eye problems.  Ive read a lot of info on the uses of this natural wonder drug and its uses in Europe.
Just curious about anybody else that is taking it and what you think.
Be Well,
Diane

Hi Diane.  I tried it many years ago and I didn't notice and difference but then again it was only for a few months.  My eyes are ok - I have no problems with them so maybe that's why I didn't notice anything.

I have taken it for liver disease.  It is also good for neuropathy.  Essentially it is a safe anti-oxidant and is supposed to be good for people with either condition.  It doesnt bother me at all, but if I take it without enough water, it gets stuck and burns my throat.

I have Hep C, so the liver benefits wont be easily detected.  My nutritionist said it was a helpful antioxidant for diabetes and liver disease, and sure enough it is in my resource book for the latter.  I take about 500 mg a day, but the book says not to take that much.  It would pay to look into a reference book on the whole supplement and be careful how much and why you use it but, I dont think it has any harmful side effects.
Would definitely check with a medical person first.
