Since, I am keeping a much tighter control on my BG numbers, I have noticed that I feel that tingling sensation in my finger tips a lot more often at night when I am trying to sleep. I do not even have to sleep on my arm (ie: on my side or anything) to get this sensation. I can be sleeping on my back and feel it in my fingers. I must admit, I am in no way comfortable with this and don't like, my last doctor's visit he checked me over pretty thorough and did not notice any signs of neuropathy. I also noticed that this winter I get colder easier. I honestly believe it has something to do with me keeping my BG in the acceptable range. I am open to most any theory on this subject.

Hi Glucoweb! Must say I am quite interested in what others think about this too. The description you have given is just what is happening to me. In the past two years I have had more episodes of tingling fingers~~ In the past, the only time I experienced them was when I was low. It was a very good signal for checking Blood sugar and keeping an eye out for lows. Now I am having them at night,,, same thing,, not sleeping on that arm or anything. Happens to both sets of fingers,,, mainly index and middle finger. It has actually been bad enough at times that I have had to get up. My endos have indicted I too have no signs of Neuropathy in hands or feet. So thoughts all??? Keep smiling, Cuddles |

I had a test made for this. One of those electrical conduction type things where you have to have electrodes stuch all over you. The dr said there was some neuropathy complicated by some carpal tunnel and spinal stenosis in the neck. Any one of these can cause tingling in the fingers. Bar |

Yep, if I am not mistaken if your pinkie doesnt tingle, it is more likely to be carpal related. I take Vitamin B6 for the carpal, wear wrist splints at night and per my chiropractor, ice my wrists if it gets really really bad. There's a real good chance of it being carpal........do you know how to do the test for it? Bend your elbows, and put the two fronts of your hands together in front of you. If you get the tingling in about 2 to 5 minutes, you may just have it. |

Thanks Bar and Gelsey! On that little way to test for carpal, Gels,,, you mean the top side of your hands,, right? Not the palms together?? Kind of hard for me to get the thumbs together doing it with the back sides,,,, but I'll try it for the next 2-5 minutes,,,,, lol! Actually my left fingers are a little tingling already and I haven't tried it yet,,,, lol! Going to test too! Thanks, Cuddles |
