Hello

i was wonderifn if any one could help re, kidney problems

I had an abdo ultrasound scan today as the doc was cheking me for gallstones. During the scan the looked at my kidneys, my right one is fine and normal size, but my left kidney was found to be considerably larger, 'about 3 times the normal size' is what the radiographer said. She was unable to tell me anymore and said the doc would contact me soon.

I am very worried, i had problems with the same kidney while i was preg 8 yrs ago and had to have a stent during an op a few yrs back as the ureter was constricted. so it has always caused me some pain, but previous US had always shown it a normal size.

Has anyone ever been found to have a very enlarged kidney before? I have been so tired for no apparent reason since last summer, but i thought it was gall stones, as did my doc! please reply if you can shed any light!

thanks

Kate

Hi Kate .... no don't know about kidneys .... just felt you needed a hug and kind word. Not knowing is worse than knowing ... hope
your doc contacts you very soon ... most things we worry about
turn out to be not that bad ... hope that's the case for you.

Hugs ... Best Wishes

hello

thank you for the reply, Normally with worries i plough into the internet to try to find out what is happening, but with this i have looked on one site and given up, i cant start panicking at this stage, i have called my uro nurse and she is going to see me on monday with the results.  I am 32 yrs old and just cant think straight at the moment. i hope it is a simple explanation, but i just dont know.

thank you for thinking of me

Kate
