Hello welcome to the group
Is it def a low feeling or just plain hungry as it's breakfast time?
If it is a low feeling perhaps you are droping low and then having a slow climb which you have detected on your meter.
Basicly I have no idea, but just a few thought for you.

This is just a thought , Maybe you are having some highs and your body is ajusting to them and when you go normal your body thinks its a low . Thats what happens to me .

I agree with Grama.  You can feel low when you are normal if your body is use to the highs.  Also,  one can have that feeling of going low if the body has dropped from a high to a lower high whether that lower high is still high or normal.

At the diabetic classes they said that you can feel "low sugar" at those levels if you sugars have been high.

Yes. I definitely agree with everyone here. When I was first diagnosed I didn't take very good care of myself. (I basically had to figure it out on my own at 13). Anyways, my body was used to being high most of the time and when I finally got around to controlling my sugars better I would feel low at 6 and 5 all the time. It took awhile keeping my sugars at a good level but my body finally went back to normal and stopped feeling that way. It is scary though. I hate the way low sugars make me feel.

Is it when you very first wake up?  So as not to just jump on the same boat with everyone else...although that dropping thing makes good sense, and I agree...it is also possible that you could have had a nightmare.  I've awakened to a "shaky," almost hypo feeling after just having an unpleasant dream.  Could have been running from something, or just scared.  And I wake up trmbling...almost like I'm hypo.  And my sugars are perfectly normal, even high.  But FEELING like I'm low.  Is that a possibility?

Everyone has a different requirement and perhaps you are keeping your bg a little too low for you as an individuals.  There are NO set numbers that are right for everyone.

Are you on too low of a carb meal plan?  Ask your dietition or Diabetic Nurse Educater.

My daughter is type 1 and I can tell you this...sometimes she feels low, I test her and she is normal..but retest her a half hour later and she is low!! Soooo, what she is feeling is the drop beginning..this could be your problem. Maybe before breakfast, you are on your way down and your body "feels" a low even though your sugar is still normal. Do you follow me? I believe this is common. Best of luck!

I will feel LOW if I do a big drop in glucose
say.. I am 372 and do a correction. in 1 hour I am say 286 I WILL feel low.
One can feel low because of
  1. a large drop in blood glucose numbers at once (example above)
  2. If one's body is used to being elevated and then is automatically brought down to within normal parameters.
  3. One can also feel low IF they can feel themselves dropping quickly (like above), but some will not drop as quickly (as above, but I am one).
