My son was diagnosed when he was two, he's now six and going into grade one on Tuesday. Kindergarten was much easier because he was only gone for the morning. This year he will be at school all day.
I am a nervous wreck! What his teacher will be like, (I've called the school and they said they won't know what class he's in until tuesday morning, so to just send him in that day and it will all be sorted out in the gymnasium,) I told them he's diabetic and I want to meet with the teacher and they still said I had to wait until tuesday and then talk to whoever it will be and then set up a date.
I'm nervous about snacks and lunches. He's a good boy, he's smart and he is incharge of himself, but he's still only 6!!! I'm so worried about sending my baby to school.
I know in a month I will look back at this and laugh at my nervousness, but I'm so torn up inside right now.
I was wondering if there were any other parents who've sent their kids off to school with any wise words of comfort??!!!!
Thanks for lenting me vent!
