Let me try this again lol, Hello Tom, If you are a newly diagnoased diabetic , it's best to go on a high protien -low carb diet. Meaning eat lean meats, poultry , fish and vegetables staying away from starchy vegs like corn, peas eat more green vegetables. After you've got your sugars under control you can add more carbs, testing to see how much you can handle on your meds or insilin. Drink lots of water to help your kidneys filtered well.
My brother inlaw who was recently diagnosed with a rare disease called " Wegener's granulomatosis " and diabeties who takes a lot of meds didn't drink enough water, he is in the hospital now with an infection of the throat because he was not drinking enough water to wash down his meds, some of the medicine was not being washed down and formed a crust in his throat, now is infected ..so drink lots of water.
