Fran,,,, Here is what I put up on general board about my new toy,,,, lol,,,,,,, Should have put it here too,,,,,, sorry!! Candice and I each got a New device/toy to help us tone up some,,,,, A strength and Toning Ball from Discovery Channel! Have any of you used one before? It comes with a handy exercise chart and so far the only one I've done is the tricep extension,,,,,, lol,,,,,, Thought this might help me gain some upper body strength and perhaps help me carrying objects around with my chest discomfort?? Mine is 4 pounds,,,,, Candice's is 6,,,,, awwwww youth!!! LOL,,,,,, Hope you are all off to good starts for the New Year!!!! Keep moving,,,, Cuddles Sheryl,,,,, here is what the company says it can help you accomplish. Stength and toning balls are multipurpose training tools used to improve core strength, functional movement, overall muscle tone and Flexibility. Strengthening the core muscles of your midsection(abdominals, obliques, hips and lower back) will help make everyday tasks easier and more enjoyable. There are 8 exercises listed on the poster,,,,,,,, I've only tried one so far,,,,,,, lol,,,,, The others you do with placing the ball on different areas of your body,,,,, or holding it /lifting it while doing the exercises! Mine weighs four pounds,,,,,,,, and it is a good thing you use two hands to hold on to it during the exercises,,,, lol,,,,,, I'll let you know how I do,,,,,,,, I'm adding two new exercises every two days to my routine,, Today along with the Tricep extension, I'm going to try the Adductor walk and the pelvic thrust!! Well Fran,,,,, hope that gives you some idea what my new toy is,,,,,,, so far I've only done three of the exercises,,,,,, trying to go very slowly cuz I'm really not in that good of physical shape,,,,,, weighing in at 162ish,,,,,, Too much,,,,,, lol,,,,,,, Anyway,,,,, Have a great day,,,,, and thanks for asking,,,,,,,, Cuddles | language=javascript>var bMB=true;</SCRIPT> language=javascript id=OVScript src="http://cmhtml.msn.overture.com/d/search/p/msn/js/communities/?Partner=msn_grpdir&maxCount=3&market=us&ctxtId=96&type=96"></SCRIPT> language=javascript></SCRIPT> ></SCRIPT> |

Oh Cuddles - this sounds great! I am still trying to get this straight in my head. Do you hold the ball or sit and roll with it? How big is this ball - I know you said it weighed 4 pounds - but I mean size wise. Great moving, hun! Hugs, angelbear |

Cuddles - I'm still trying to figure out what it is lol!!! I've ordered tons of stuff for exercising before and now my husband just says have it delivered directly into the garage!!!! Yours sounds really interesting though - I'll take a look at the web site and see if it's there. You sound like you're doing really great with this - good luck! hugs Fran |

Hi You Two!!!! sorry for being so late in getting back to your question about size, Angelbears,,,,, I asked Dave and he said it is about 7-8 inches in circumference?????? To me it looks like a very small cantaloupe,,,,,,, you do all the exercises with both hands on the ball at all times,,,,, except for the Pelvic Thrust where you place it between your knees and squeeze while lifting hips off floor,,,,,,,, you hold for 10 seconds and then slowly lower hips to start position,,,,,,,, This one is hard for me,,,,,, need to get a mat to lie on I think,,,,,,, floor is hard,,,, lol,,,,,,,,, I'm still just doing the three exercises,,,,,,, I have worked up to the 12 reps twice a day as suggested,,,,,, Trying to take it slow,,,,,, it takes a good amount of concentration still to "Stabilize torso muscles" each time,,,,,,,,, Keep moving,,,,,,,, Cuddles |

LOL at sending exercise stuff to the garage. Can I put my stuff in your garage, Cuddles? I am tired of almost tripping on it when I walk through the apartment. I have one of those big exercise balls you stretch on. Or do sit ups with. I also have those rubbery stretchy bands. When I step on them or touch them accidentally, it feels like I'm stepping on something cold and wet. To be honest, I've used them once or twice. Not bad since I've owned them for over two years. Also my dumb bells. I use them, too. |
