Microdermabrasion is a favorite topic of mine because it is one technique I highly believe in and know lots about. I have experienced proof of its promises and swear by the use of it. There are many types of Microdermabrasion kits on the market and be careful. They promise they do better than the next product and they don't. I have bought several and settled on one with maximum results for me called iSkin. I buy it at Sallys Supplies which is local for me. Here is a web link showing locations http://www.sallybeauty.com/

I have bought and returned Susan Lucci "Youthful Essence." Save your money!! You can go to Sally's or any place you can find that carries the iSkin product. The initial one you need is the kit and it runs for $39.95. The refills are about $25. The kit contains the battery applicator that you use to apply the product to your skin. I suggest wearing a shower cap and get your hair out of the way. When completed rinse off with water and you will be totally amazed at the noticable difference immediately in your skintone.

What microdermabrasion does for your skin is an overrall effect on your face. It truly does aid in the following:

renews more youthful skin cells

reduces fine lines & uneven skin texture

erases age spots

it helps balance oily skin and unplugs black & white heads

helps reduce blemishes & reduces large pores

The application is done in  about five minutes and over time the results are as they say. I use it on my hands and neck sometimes and it can be used anywhere on your body. What microdermabrasion does is exfoliates the dead skin cells giving clarity to your skin, renewing more youthful skin cells. Over a few months all the promises of using this come true. After the first use you will see a very smooth glowing face. Some people use it daily others 3 times a week, you choose after beginning. The cream takes very little and the jar will last about two months or more depending on usage.

No, I don't sell it but I have used it since last Septembeer, 2002. <BG>   Wanda

It really does make a difference and it is not too harsh at all, at least I find the iSkin isn't.

I have so many microdermabrasion creams from different product lines on hand that I have been using my I-Skin machine to apply them.

There is no doubt it has evened out the skin tone and reduced age spots and some splotchy areas.

Hi,Angelbear.I have a question about the microdermabrasion.I have always been afraid to try anything too drastic on my skin because i have very fair thin skin as a lot of other redheads do.Do you think this would be too harsh for me? I have had a lot of small red viens zaped from my face over the last few years and they tell me it is because of having such thin skin.Let me know what you think please. Thanks, your diva sister,Diane

You've convinced me to try it!

I've been thinking about trying it for some time, but the expense and time of going to the day spa just annoys me terribly, so I kept putting it off.  But to have a good kit reccommended and to be able to do it at home on my leisure changes everything!

Here's hoping I can reveal a invigorated face soon.

Redhead, I'm sorry I didn't see this before now. I would go ahead and try it and not worry. Its not harsh on your skin and might even in time make the veins dissapear.

Karla-  Try it, I know you will love the results. Let us now.

I'm no longer using a dermabrasion machine.  I have been using 2% Beta Hydroxy Liquid (Salicylic acid) for unclogging pores and helping with ingrown hairs and zits caused by wearing sunscreen.  Salicylic acid also cause exfoliation of the skin.  Since I use this 2x a day and a glycolic pad at night, any kind of manual exfoliation would probably be too much for my skin. (I also use skin care products with retinol in them).
