Over the years we all have tried a variety of beauty/skincare products from head to toe. I would love to hear everyones feed back for why you couldn't stand the product for whatever reason. This list might help us save some money on not buying it ourself. Wanda

OKAY! Just found a new mineral makeup that compares to Bare Minerals. Physician's Formula. It comes in a little oval shaped sifter jar and has it's own little "kabuki" brush in the lid. This makeup does not claim sun protection the way Bare Minerals does but to get enough sun protection from Bare Minerals or any other SPF powder type makeup you would have to really put on a thick layer and that would not look good if you are aging and have wrinkles. I always wear Olay Regenerist SPF 15 under any powder makeup to make sure I get the right amount of SPF any way unless I am putting it on in the evening and don't need SPF. The little brush that comes with the Physician's Formula is certainly usable but for application at home I just use my Bare Minerals brush (which is the most excellent powder brush you can buy). I got my Physician's Formula in "Transluscent light" color which is perfect for my skin color. I bought it at Walgreens for about $6.00. It is normally about $10.00 there but they just had it on sale. Even though I have the Bare Minerals makeup also, which is a wonderful product, it is also very PRICEY at about $35.00 for just the foundation at Ulta. You can also get it from QVC at a better price. You still need to buy the Mineral Veil to go over the Bare Minerals to tone down some of the shine in the foundation. If you don't use the mineral veil , the shine of the foundation will highlight any scars, wrinkles, enlarged pores or oily "t-zone" that you might have. You don't need to use ANYTHING over the Phys. Formula makeup unless you have an extremely oily t-zone. (you could use any matte transluscent finishing powder for this). I like the Phys. Formula makeup just as well as the Bare Minerals and you get a LOT more makeup for a lot LESS PRICE with the Phys. Formula makeup. I also think it's a lot more convenient to take on the road because it's all self contained with the little brush and the application of the Phys. Formula is all around less messy---fewer containers to deal with and the container seems to not "fog" the powder all over the room as much as the Bare Minerals. |

Looneybird........... When I was out in San Francisco, I purchased the Physicians Formula that you talked about and I think it is equal to Bare Escentuals as far as coverage. I also purchased their CoverToxTen (wrinkle therapy) and was quite pleased with it as well. adair |

Adair--I'm so glad you liked the Physician's Formula. The little brush that comes with it is convenient for travel but it certainly does not hold a candle to the Bare Minerals foundation brush. I have Bare Minerals and like the product but am always looking for products that are equal to or superior to the expensive ones for less of a price. Thanks for posting on this! |

Hi Looneybird!!! The Future E i bought has 15 spf in it.Sometimes when a buy a new cream without sunblock,i add a little # 45 sunblock to it as i want sunblock on all year.If you have fair, delicate skin, maybe the facial masks are not good for you.I only use a non soap cream clenser like Dove cream clenser on my face and pat it dry very gently.I recently had laser treatments to get rid of my facial viens, and was very pleased at the results.I hope this helps,Hugs,Diane |

Hi again Loonetbird. The laser my Dr. uses has a cool tip on it and is very gentle.I have had 1 treatment and this Fri i go for another and that should be that.It does remove facial hair as well at the same time as removing the viens. An added bonus i guess.I did not have any viens near my upper lip and he asked me if i wanted him to do it to stop any hair growth.Of course i said yes. They don't go too near your hair line or eyebrows because it kills the hair. |

Thanks for responding, Redhead. That sounds like the laser for me. Do you know what the actual name of the Laser is? There are different kinds and each one has its' pros and cons. |

I don't know the actual name of the laser, but i know it is a gentle one.My Dr. would rather do 2 or 3 treatments that are very gentle rather than a harsh one that might cause peeling,or bleeding. My skin feels great and the only thing i can see from the laser is a few small dark spots that look like small freckles.I don't even wear makeup as they are not noticible unless you are really looking. |

Wow, Redhead! It would be wonderful to have skin looking good enough to be seen in public without makeup. I only wear makeup when I'm going to be seen by a lot of people--like all day errand running and shopping and going out to eat at places where I will most likely be seen by people we know. I spend more time plucking facial hair, IGIA trimming facial hair and concealing broken capillaries, dark circles and scars than anything else. It would be sooooo nice to dispense with this lengthly routine. I am definitely going to look into the laser procedure once I get some bills paid down. |
