Omigod omigod OMIGOD! Ok so I paid for this procedure in full before i got fired and it's non-refundable. We have a day spa here called Renu (there are a few around the country) which I went to for this awesome facial which was a birthday present from my husband. it is very swank and expensive BUT i was watching tv and an ad came up for this incredible price for underarm/bikini hair removal. I have been waiting for this kind of price. I had the money from my second job (the Aussie tour coordinator thing) and so I got a consultation and booked it. It cost $680 including this really powerful lidocaine cream for 5 treatments and this is for the "extra" bikini area since I am such a hairy monster.

Had the first treatment a week ago. It kind of hurt at first but after a while it feels sort of neat. Like "good" pain cuz you know what it is for and the second the laser stopped I had no pain. No redness or anything. Well it takes like a week for hair to start falling out and it has been a week and I'll be dog-gone cuz it really is falling out. You shave first so the laser energy goes to the root not the hair shaft. so all these little stubs "growing" back are the hairs shedding.

This rocks! It's crazy! It is the most expensive most worth it thing i have ever done for myself!!! Next to getting that evil "monthly visitor" every month, shaving is my least favorite thing to do!! It takes FOREVER and it is always bumpy and sore :(

If you have the cash and the price is right don't hesitate!!! If I was younger I'd have laser eye surgery too (I'm near-sighted AND have an awful astigmatism) but eh, glasses dont bother me. Hairy armpits that need shaving? HATE IT! No hair in my armpits? It is crazy and I am loving it!

: ) Margie

Wow, Tessarae!  I would love to have that done.  I would rather have it done on my face, though.  I don't mind shaving my legs and pits but I am spending way too much time on my face.  I think I'm turning into a WOLF ! I have always had excessive long blonde hair on my jaw line but now some of that blonde hair is turning black!   To top it off, my eyebrows are trying to join the hair on my head at the temples! I've tried waxing, depilatories, and all of the stuff you can do at home.  Let's don't even discuss those long curly black hairs that spring up under my chin that I don't even notice until I have spent all day long at the Doctor's office, the grocery store and the mall.  Those blasted chin hairs can go from not even being noticed to being 1/2 inch long.  The mustache hairs are no fun either but at least I can see them before they get too long.
Do you know if having Laser on the facial hairs will cause broken capillaries?  I have been getting more broken capillaries recently.  I think it's from the "home electrolosis" gadget and the waxing I've been doing.

That does sound cool. Your brave.
I also have those chin hairs that grow overnight, mostly blonde then some of those black ones. Have to do it at least 2 times a week. The mustache I give up. Just going to leave it alone, maybe it will go away. Dont have to even think of the monthly visitor anymore. Thats wonderful. Now I can be one person instead of waiting for that PMS person to come around. She was mean.

i dont think laser hair removal would cause broken capillaries on your face. it apparently may cause a temporary [a few weeks?] of darkened skin but i would think you could even that out with makeup. i dont think it would be that dark. however you do have to wear heaps of sunscreen during the months you have the treatments.

i know what ya mean about chin hairs. they grow INSTANTLY! i am able to keep them under control...when i got that facial the woman plucked some hairs out on my chin...they haven't grown back yet and that was in December! they were kind of little fuzzies and my chin is so smooth now.

i also have a unihairline! my eyebrows and hairline merge but my unibrow thinned out in the middle. go figure. now i get these grey hairs though. that is funny!

i wax my eyebrows and sometimes my chin and bleach my mustachio. i have long hair [on my head] almost down to my waist. so shaving, bleaching, plucking, waxing, washing, straightening - holy cow! i dont always straighten my hair but it is fun to do.

Margie

Yes!  This is the post, Wanda.  Thanks for finding it for me.  The person that started this post is no longer with Divas but I am very interested in Laser hair removal and laser removal of broken capillaries/veins on the face.  If any of the current members have had this done or have someone close to them that is having it done, please speak up!  I am tired of having a furry face.  It is taking entirely too much time to deal with and every hair removal process that I have tried at home has caused MORE BROKEN CAPILLARIES!

I have been to the Mayo Clinic Website on Laser Hair Removal and another site as well.  I would really like to be able to ask someone who has had this done how it worked out for them.  I am going to see about having the broken capillaries on my face removed too.  All the hair removal products and gadgets I have used on my face so far are causing more broken capillaries.
Anyone?
