OMG!  2 years later I am just seeing this reply on thin fine hair!

My dear fellow victim of fine thin hair!!!!! I do color my hair as it is supposed to plump it up a bit.I use a light mousse as gel tends to weigh my hair down. I am 54 and i thought my hair was becoming even thinner.I told my hairdresser and she sold me a shampoo and conditioner called Nioxion. It is for fine thin limp hair and it does give you volume plus stops more hair loss.I hope you give it a try because it sure worked for me.Hug,Diane

Thank you, Diane!  I hope it is still on the market!!

Anyone have straight hair and want curls or waves for a change? I found this spray gel and boy does it work. I tried it out and I have never seen such waves in my hair and curls. You spray then style according to what you want. Twist the hair for waves or scrunch for the curlier effect.

Its called Fructis Style by Garnier Curl Shaping Spray Gel

Wanda, I just tried this stuff on my hair and I am amazed! Wow! I sprayed it on my straight dry hair, and now I have loose wavey curls all over my head. Easiest thing I have every done. Thanks for sharing. Gena

I have some natural curl Gena. I am glad it worked for you. A friend of mine tried it who had naturally straight hair and this gave her some nice curl and waves. Changed her look...

I think the trick might be to have a layered cut to start.  Then use it on dry hair.  I spayed it on, scrunched my hair, twisted it, and fluffed in sections. I had to use quite a bit. As my hair dryed, I used hairspray to hold it in place.  The curls aren't ringlets but more wavey loose curls.  I am going to try it on my daughter's long hair tomorrow. My hair is straighter than an arrow! My daughter has some natural curl. We'll see. Still It is much easier than all the curling brushes and irons. Good luck all. Gena

Yikes! Gena-You just reminded me of that terrible curling iron every girl had during the 70's.Almost every girl wanted the "Farrah Fawcett Lion's Mane".I even tried it once(b4 I ODed on Perms).I hate curlers,I hate curling irons too.Think I'll just stick to my earthy look.

I have extremely curly hair and for me, getting the right cut is essential. If my hair is not cut evenly, it looks awful.  I like to scrunch it as it dries, so I have been using Catwalk Curls Rock..and I don't like it.  It makes my hair have that wet look all day and it doesn't look soft and natural.  So, I too am going to try the Garnier Curl Shaping spray gel.  Maybe it won't make my curls look so wooden.  Thanks for the tip.

I got my hair colored and highlighted tonight. The past year I have had issues with blisters and welts on my scalp, neck and ears. I have talked to many people and went to a new salon tonight. I told her what has happened to me with the multiple situations. She said that our system changes about every 7 years with the chemicals we use on our hair and I  obviously have changed this past year. She was very careful in wiping excess dye off my skin and foiled my entire head. My hair turned out better than ever. The real testimony is two hours or so after my hair is done. Yep, I have some blisters starting on my neck now and scratching like crazy. I am taking my Benadryl that I keep on hand. I refuse to stop coloring my hair! LOL!

Do any of you have this problem or heard of it?

I don't know of anyone that has that problem.  sounds to me like you are allergy to something that is a common element in dyes.  strange that it always happens no matter who does it.

I am planning a cut this weekend too.  I recently had about 6 inches cut off the back and now am going for another 6.  I want the Meg Ryan sassy cut from "city of angels".  I'm goin' do it!!!  First time I've gone for short hair for over 10 years but I'm ready

I am blessed with thick brown hair.  I use to wear it very short and liked that.
Ive since grown it long and it is shoulder length now.  I have the same hairdresser Ive had since 1988.  Im comfortable with her.
About 4 yrs ago the grays started coming .  Hubby calls them silver threads.  I have had highlites done and liked that for a change, but have decided Im gonna try and just let it go naturally all gray or silver and see if I can tolerate it without streaking, highliting or coloring it.
Im calling my hairdresser today to make an appt. for a long curly perm.   I do have some natural wave at the ends, but want something a little easier to take care of while we're in Fla.  I can pull it up with clips, pony tail holders and other hair accessories.  I quite often wear hats, ( baseball cap style ) and I wear different colored bandannas often too.  I dont like my hair in my face or eyes, so I keep it tucked back  or under something If I can.  My ears work good for holding it back as well.
Shampoos and conditioners salon formulas are expensive at my hairdressers and I know they work.  I have very hard water at my house and its hard on my hair. ( not to mention my clothing, dishes and skin ) So, I pretty much so use any type of products on my hair.  I do use mayonnaise once a month as a conditioner.

Geez, forgot about the rest of my body hair.
Unfortuneately I am a woman that is plagued with facial hair, grrrrrrrrrr.   And not just the soft white fuzzy spots either.  Thick , dark coarse chin and neck hair.  grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
My hairdresser does electrolysis and Ive had it done, it works yes, but it to painful for me to endure .
Ive had IPL laser done and it has worked too . But Im tellin ya the hair grows back.
I just shave now with the little pink disposable daisy razor. Nothing else I can do.  The hair removal treatments are expensive.
In the summer time I shave my legs every day and armpits as well cuz Im always wearing shorts and tank tops.
I dont pluck my eyebrows cuz I never have , and the shape of them is untouched .
All in all Im a very hairy person, lol.  Dont necessarily like it in the areas it grows sometimes, but not a whole lot I can do but deal with it in the least painful, least expensive ways I can.
