Savannah ! Don't want to alarm you put that is not a good sign !!!! You are damaging your nail bed if you keep the acrylic nails on too long.! YOUR NAILS NEED TO BREATHE !!! YOU WILL EVENTUALLY LOSE YOUR NAILS IF YOU DON'T TAKE CARE AND THEN NO FAKE NAILS AT ALL !!! SUGGEST YOU HAVE YOUR DR LOOKIE AFTER YOU REMOVE THE FAKE NAILS!iI HAVE SEEN PEOPLE WHO HAD TO HAVE ENTIRE NAILS REMOVED !!! PLEASE DO GO AND GET CHECKED OUT !!! HUGS KATHY |

Savannah!! Listen to Kathy and AngelBear. No over the counter remedies will help you. I have seen podiatrists for fungus on my toenail and the prescribed meds help, but I rarely get pedicures now...except with trusted person I know. You have to let your nails heal and breathe!! Sorry, dear, but you should remove the acrylics..before you develop a nasty infection. |

Hey Sweetie -- I am in total agreement leave those nasty nails off. I had nails like that few years ago and mine have never been the same sorry--even though they look great--OH how deceiving they are! |

This is just the most caring group of women and I sincerely appreciate all your concerns. You are right and I am going to have to give them up (now I know how an alcoholic feels, 'cause I am addicted). I really knew the answer all along, just needed to hear it from someone else. Again, thanks for asking and caring.............. |

You can buy the store glue on nails when your nails heal. They can be put on and off daily or whenever you want. They come polished and all lengths and shapes now. I use them when I want nails. I hope your nails heal OK, let us know and do get them off now ya hear? LOL! |

Okay...have a question for you nail peoples I have noticed recently that the moons on my finger nails are slowly getting fainter and fainter in appearance. I have looked at a few other peoples nails and some of them still have the moons and some have no moons whatsoever! Do the moons at the base of the finger nails start disappearing with age or is it some sort of indication of a medical problem???????????????? adair (almost moonless in Nevada) |

Savannah- What did you ever do about your nails? Did you go to the Drs. and get them removed at the salon finally?? Are they feeling normal again? |

Hi from Grandma,
Ladies, I just wanted to give you a heads up. One of the sympoms of having a thyroid problem is dry splitting breaking nails. If you notice a change in your nails, it is worth having a blood test to check your thyroid levels. I was diagnosed with high thyroid last year and all the sympoms are very subtle...the nail thing is something you might notice before any other symptom. |

Hummm, my nail crack, split, and tear off all the time plus my wieght is either to low (if that's posible ) or to high, like now. I see the dr. next month, I may just ask for a thyroid test. Thanks for the info, Grandma |

I have all my moons and somewhere down the road I thought I heard the moon thing was somewhat hereditary. |
