Chipping, peeling nailpolish?? THE SOLUTION!!!
Since I was a teenager I have been doing my own nails. Polish would only stay on for a couple of days at most no matter what I tried. Well, I read a tip from one of the ladies on MUA a couple of months ago and it WORKS!!! I am so excited and can't believe that it took 20+ years to get this precious little tip. I made sure to test it out before posting.
Anyway, put some plain old white vinegar on a cotton ball and wipe over each clean/dry nail. Do not rinse or wipe off! It will dry in about a minute and the smell will be gone, so don't let that put you off. Add any base coat, 2 coats of polish and top coat (Sally hansen mega shine - my favorite) and you are done. I experimented with polish which is cheap, expensive, creme, pearl, etc. and they all work equally well. The cheaper ones tend to dull within a couple of days but a quick top coat solves that problem. I easily go 7-9 days with no chips, splits, or peels and only redo because my nails grow really fast and I don't like the "grow out" gap at the base.
Simple, easy, cheap - hope you try it!
