Bernadette,
I recently viewed a DVD called "The Secret". It is about the law of attraction. I was wondering if you had heard of it, read the book, or seen the video. I know you read Dyer and it reminds me a lot of his book , The Power of Intention. Not as well done, I might add. They had a lot of people on Oprah talking about the Secret so I bought the DVD. Just wondering if you had happened to get it. Gena

No, I don't think it is as in depth as Dyer. Sort of like an infomercial. Lots of hype....Just wanted your opinion on it. They are acting like it is some new mysterious thing that they are just coming out with and Dyer has been talking about it for years...As have Chopra and other quantum physics experts for years...The Secret smacks of the Name it and Claim it phase Christianity went through years ago. It sort of creeps me out...I don't know... Just kind of wondered what you thought. Gena

I definitely believe you can attract things into your life, but I don't think it is something that happens at the drop of a hat. To me it seems that you really have to take a personal inventory and sometimes really realign your thinking but once you do things can really start happening. What are your thoughts?

Sorry Bernadette, missed this post.  I am not sure what I think to tell the truth. I know there is a lot about all of this that I don't understand. It is all very different that the traditional way in which most midwestern people are "taught" to think. I think it makes more sense! I would like to understand more, but to be honest there aren't many people around here who can wrap there minds around these ideas and in fact a lot of churchs even preach against these ideas. It goofy...but true. So, if you think differently, it's hard to get information and the ideas bounce back and forth against the walls of your own brain many times....

Check out a movie called "What the Bleep", it is really ummmm . . . quirky? It caught my attention and the more I watched it the more I got out of it. Really some interesting ideas. I think I found it in th public library but I know several people who actually found it in various stores.

I saw that movie when it first came out in video! It had several famous actors in it, I think. Also famous scientists etc. It was good, but I only watched it once, because we had to return it. I should see if they have it at the library now and watch it when I have some peace and quiet. These new books I am talking about seem to be along the same line, only in story form. Very interesting. This is just hard for me to get my mind so far outside the box! It has been crammed inside the little box for so long! My 26 year old is all about this stuff and has a good grasp. Actually, I understand it much better when looking at it from Carl Jung's perspective which I think is very similiar but more psychological. Where do you live Bernadette? Gena
