This year, my son Justin hung around several hours and played with my bird, Petey.  Usually he comes in and leaves in a mad rush.  Petey and I both enjoyed his extended stay immensely!!!

Yes, DH got me a diamond necklace. What makes it so special, is that he did it himself. (For you newbies, my DH has progressive MS and is basically a quadraplegic.) He saw a commercial by a jewelry store (in a town 25 miles away) & had our son drive him over. He found just what he was looking for, made payment arrangements, and kept the whole escapade hidden from me until Christmas morning!  Now, it's not exactly my taste, but I think it is the most beautiful necklace in the world!

Boy! Did I!
Earlier(Oct. actually),my Dm & Dd went in halves w. Dh & me on our savings to buy a GOOD used car.So now Dh & I are driving a warm dry car instead of the cold windy (slow) scooter.I sure missed wearing skirts & dresses. We're keeping the scooter for a safetynet on transportation .

This is the first Christmas...in many....that we've had both our sons home (in the United States) and also....home here with our family.  There's nothing more I could have wanted...or asked for...or that would have meant more to me.

Also....we have been blessed with two new members to our family this year.....our new daughter in law, (my oldest son's wife as of Sept) Katy....and of course....our mischievious Buck.

There were gifts...as well....but nothing that comes close in importance or value....to those things.

My sister made 2 DVD's and gave it to all the family for Christmas. She had them made for us  (by her friend who does this as a living) from over 500 pictures & part videos we all contributed to this. Its made like a geneology history collection. It is so great! It has all families on both side from Great Greats through my parents courting, having kids, us kids having kids etc. Parts of it have my Dad talking on it and I just bawled going through the memories. I smiled and cried over this gift. The 2nd DVD was of my Moms 80th birthday party. We kept the video going while she talked over many things and it covered lots of  the two parties plus my entire family chatting and laughing etc. This gift really touched me.

Having my youngest son come for Christmas (with his girlfriend) was the best present I could have received.  We spent good quality time together, and both "Liver" and I are quite impressed with Samantha (the girlfriend).

The other thing was a 8"x10" picture of my grandchildren.  Because I am so far away from them, it is really good to have pictures of them.
