With Fall time, the beautiful leaves change color and fall all over.

Do you ever collect leaves and do anything with them.

Like waxing them? etc?

Theres many ways to preserve leaves.

I know this is an old board but it brought back a memory of what I did with leaves in the 1950's. I covered a lamp shade with a very nappy material almost shaggy texture. Then I took those beautiful autumn leaves after pressing them in a book and glued them onto the material....not many, but grouped together. It looked nice and it was cheap lol. The base of the lamp was a piece of driftwood I found.

I'd love to see the picture if you find it. I can just imagine how it looks.

This was done in the late 50's before they had craft type books and shows. I got the leaves from my aunts house (hardly any trees in Brooklyn where I lived) on Long Island and treasured them. I should have made a base for it.
thats my son at 3 yrs old next to the lamp

this was on the other wall..one of my paintings and a mosaic tile coffee table I made.

That is a very nice touch to the Lamp shade with the base being driftwood. Nice painting!!    How long have you been doing "art?"

I was a lucky kid in grade school when my art teacher suggested I try out for a special art high school in Manhatten. I got in and had 5 periods of art a day. It wasn't fine arts it was art in industry such as  costume design, fashion illustration, advertising art, photography and so on. Some of the famous people that went to this school was, Paul Mitchel, Tony Bennet, Ralph Loren, Calvin Klein, even Harvey Fierstone lol. A lot of my classmates went into the advertising field.
I got married instead lol
Art has always been in my life.

I was a Brownie/Girl Scout.  We always had some project focusing fall leaves.  Nice time to remember.  Remind me to post what a brat I was being a brownie focusing on fall leaves.
