I know most of our children are grown but I will still post this here. I read the news on what California is doing to homeschoolers.

Do you feel that after all this time California has the right to change the rules?

How do you feel about Homeschooling?

Have you ever Homeschooled?

If they lose the Supreme Court ruling have all the kids will be put into public schools.

It is a mystery to me why anyone would want to home school their child.
I enjoy my freedom too much.

I would be concerned about them gaining social skills, learning to interact wih others..... although I have read that parents get them  involved in extra curricular activities.

No, parents have the right to choose whats best for their children.
How do you feel about Homeschooling?
I believe in it. Theres always a few exception homes to the rule that spoil the image of it.
Have you ever Homeschooled?
Yes. I homeschooled both our sons. My oldest went to Kindergarten and 1st grade. My youngest went to kindergarten. It was that year we researched homeschooling and decided to do it. I HS Mike thru 8th grade and he decided to start highschool and graduated. My youngest JJ began Highschool and did graduate as well.

There are so many misconceptions about homeschooling. Its a shame that a handful of families here and there can give it a bad name. Most people that comment negatively don't know all the facts about it. I would do it all over again.

I think the people should be able to decide what type of education they want their children to have. Homeschooling was definaltely not for me I had to work 3 jobs to support my kids while they were young  even if I would have had the opportunity to hs I would not have been confident in my ablitities to do so.

My cousin is homeschooling his kids & they are a DELIGHT to be around. All 4 of them. They are so respectful & so intelligent.I think homeschooling is great. There are less distractions & less likely to be overlooked(like in an overcrowded classroom). As for learning to be socially active, there are other ways for kids to learn that.Big families, neighborhood kids, church activities & community centers. We have the big family & they're avid churchgoers.

CC- Homeschooling isn't for everyone. Some families that I knew should not have been HS because they weren't doing justice with their kids education nor let them out very often.

I love hearing everyones opinion on it. Also just because I homeschooled doesn't mean its right but it was right for me back then. Make since? LOL!

i do not feel that it would be in the best interest of the families who choose to homeschool, to change the laws, to step back in time ...

to those who are conscientious about homeschooling, i am all for it ...

i never have homeschooled ... for awhile, i did seriously look into homeschooling my children, but they didn't want to be homeschooled ... they knew how i felt about their education, how important i feel it is, and how i would not take the task lightly ... they used to joke that i would probably be a harder teacher than any of the teachers at the school they attended ...  ... so, the next best thing was for me to get a job at their school ... i could get to know their teachers, what they were learning, from a distance, see who the hung with ... it might sound kinda overprotective, but it really turned out to be fun for all of us to be together during those years ... they, and their friends, would come visit me often in the office where i worked ... when my son got into a goofy stage (kinda rebellious you could say), his teachers used to kid him that they knew where his mom was!! ... hehehe ...
